  1. Nils Liedholm

    Nils Liedholm (born October 8, 1922 in Valdemarsvik) is a Swedish retired football midfielder and coach, famous for being part of Sweden's "Gre-No-Li" trio of strikers along with Gunnar Gren and Gunnar Nordahl at A.C. Milan and the Swedish national team. He is the only member of the three still living. As a coach, he was in charge of several teams in Italy, managing for nearly four decades.

    Ludmila Engquist (born April 21, 1964 in Tambov Oblast, Russia) is a Swedish athlete who won gold medals in 100m hurdles at the 1991 World Championships (for the Soviet Union under the name Ludmila Narozhilenko) and 1997 World Championships as well as the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. For her 1997 victory in Athens, Engquist received the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal, the first non-native Swede to win the honor.

    Daniel Sedin is a professional ice hockey player for the National Hockey League's Vancouver Canucks. His identical twin brother Henrik Sedin also plays for the Canucks. Both played on a line with Anson Carter in 2005-06, sometimes known colloquially as the 'Brothers Line'. In that season, the Brother Line was the Canucks top-scoring line, passing the Markus Naslund/Todd Bertuzzi/Brendan Morrison line in points.

He was the most successful male canoeist ever, having gained medals in a succession of Swedish, Nordic, World and Olympic championships from 1942 - 1960. Fredriksson remains the most successful Swede at the Olympics, winning six gold medals at four Olympics. Fredriksson won his first Olympic gold medals at the 1948 Summer Olympics winning the 1,000 and 10,000 metre events.

    Hanna Ljungberg is a Swedish football (soccer) player, playing the position of forward. She plays for the club side Umeå IK and for the Swedish national team. Hanna Ljungberg is one of only two Swedish professional players in the Swedish women's league, Damallsvenskan. She was chosen as Swedish Player of the Year in 2002, winning the Diamond Ball (Diamantbollen).

    Anna Lindberg (born November 16 1981 in Karlskoga, Sweden) is a Swedish diver. She won the 1m and 3m Springboard events at the 2006 European Championships in Aquatics. She is daughter to former Swedish divers Ulrika Knape and Mathz Lindberg. Lindberg has competed in three Olympic Summer Games, 1996, 2000 and 2004. Her best result is a 5th place on the 3m Springboard in 2000.

He was a national champion and competed at the European Figure Skating Championships, the World Figure Skating Championships and the 1988 Winter Olympics. Johansson currently works as a coach at the Skating Club of Boston. With Mark Mitchell, he coaches many top-level skaters, including 2003 US National pewter medalist Scott Smith, and 2007 World Junior champion Stephen Carriere.

Stymne became gold medalist and world record holder in the 4x50 meters freestyle together with Stefan Nystrand, Marcus Piehl and Jonas Tilly with the time of 1:24.89 on December 10 2006 at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Helsinki, Finland.

    Carl Rune Larsson (born 17 June,1924) was a Swedish athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metre hurdles. He competed for Sweden in the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the 400 metre hurdles where he won the bronze medal. He then ran with Kurt Lundquist, Lars Wolfbrandt and Folke Alnevik as the Swedish 4 x 400 metre relay team that also won a bronze medal. Larsson won the Svenska Dagbladet Gold Medal in 1951.

    Kristin Bengtsson is a women's soccer player, who currently plays for Djurgården/Älvsjö. She holds the record for the most capped player in the Swedish women's national team, with 157 caps. Bengtsson has appeared in three World Cups, the 1995, 1999 and 2003 competitions. She netted one goal in the 1999 competition against Australia. Bengtsson has also appeared in four UEFA Championships with Sweden, the 1993, 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2005 competitions.

    Karl Emil Julius Ulrich Salchow (August 7, 1877 - April 19, 1949) was a Swedish figure skater, who dominated the sport in the first decade of the 20th century. Salchow won the World Figure Skating Championships no fewer than ten times, from 1901 to 1905, and from 1907 to 1911. This is still a record, which he shares with Sonja Henie, who also won 10 titles in the 1920s and 1930s.
