  1. Lou Marsh

    Lewis Edwin "Lou" Marsh was a Canadian athlete and referee, and one of the pioneers of sports journalism in Canada, working at the "Toronto Star" for 43 years. Marsh was born in Campbellford, Ontario and lived there until the age of nine, when he moved with his family to Toronto. At 14, in the first year after the launch of the "Toronto Star", Marsh walked into the newspaper's office responding to a want ad and was hired as a copyboy.

  2. Norris Bowden

    Robert Norris Bowden was a Canadian figure skater. Born in Toronto, Bowden won championships in every division of Canadian figure skating. He was national men's champion as a junior and senior (1947), national pairs (junior and senior), dance (1952), waltz, and 10-step champion with Frances Dafoe, and national fours champion. Bowden and Dafoe captured four Canadian titles (1952, 1953, 1954, 1955) and two world championships (1954, 1955).

    Jeremy Fritz (born December 15, 1979) is a Canadian professional wrestler, better known by his ring name, "Showtime" Eric Young. He is currently working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

  4. Petey Williams

    Peter "Petey" Williams (born August 26, 1981) is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is currently working in the United States for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, where he is a competitor in the X Division, and the former captain of Team Canada. He is referred to by the nickname "The Canadian Destroyer", a reference to his flip piledriver finisher of the same name.

    Scott Francis D'Amore (born August 8, 1974 in Windsor, Ontario) is a Canadian professional wrestler, manager, promoter, booker and entrepreneur. He formerly managed Team Canada in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He was also the former head of the creative team. He also owns and books Border City Wrestling and Prime Time Wrestling.

  7. Lionel Conacher

    Lionel Pretoria Conacher (May 24, 1900 - May 26, 1954), nicknamed The Big Train, was Canada's top all-around athlete in the 1920s, excelling in Canadian football, ice hockey, lacrosse, baseball, boxing and wrestling. He later became a politician and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and the Canadian House of Commons. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Conacher played for the Toronto Argonauts, and was part of the 1921 Grey Cup winning team.

  10. Ben Johnson

    Benjamin Sinclair "Ben" Johnson CM (born December 30, 1961) is a former Canadian sprinter who enjoyed a high-profile career during most of the 1980s, winning two Olympic Bronze medals, and an Olympic Gold which was subsequently rescinded. He set consecutive 100 m world records at the 1987 World Championships in Athletics and the 1988 Summer Olympics, but he was disqualified for doping, losing the Olympic title and both records.

  12. Jeffrey Buttle

    A student in U of T's Chemical Engineering program, Jeffrey Buttle is the 2008 World Champion in figure skating. He also holds the titles of 2005-2007 Canadian Men's Champion, 2005 World Silver Medalist, 2002 and 2004 Four Continents Champion, and 2006 Olympic Bronze Medalist. Admired in the skating world for his complex choreography, he excels at inventive spins and challenging footwork. Buttle is currently preparing for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

  13. Brett Hull

    Brett Andrew Hull (born August 9, 1964 in Belleville, Ontario) is a former NHL player, the son of legendary player Bobby Hull and nephew of Dennis Hull. Though in the earliest years of his career few saw him as a potential star, the colorful and often outspoken Hull announced his retirement on October 15, 2005 with 741 career goals, placing him third on the all-time list. He played for the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Phoenix Coyotes.

  14. Donald Jackson

    Donald George Jackson, C.M. (born April 2, 1940 in Oshawa, Ontario) is a Canadian figure skater. He captured four Canadian titles and a bronze medal at the 1960 Winter Olympics. In 1962, en route to winning gold at the World Figure Skating Championships, he both attempted and landed the first triple lutz in international competition. Jackson is currently a coach at the Minto Skating Club in Ottawa, Ontario In 1997, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada.

  16. Phil Esposito

    Philip Anthony "Espo" Esposito, OC (born February 20, 1942 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) is a retired professional hockey center who played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. He is an Honoured Member of the Hockey Hall of Fame and is considered to be one of the best to have ever played in the National Hockey League. Esposito is also the older brother of Tony Esposito.

  17. Frances Dafoe

    Frances Dafoe, C.M., O.Ont. (born January 17, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario) was a Canadian figure skater. She competed in pairs with Norris Bowden. The couple captured four Canadian titles and two World Figure Skating Championships, and won the silver medal at the 1956 Winter Olympics. In 1991, she was made a Member of the Order of Canada.

  18. Barbara Ann Scott

    Barbara Ann Scott (born May 9, 1928 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is a world and Olympic champion figure skater. Scott began skating at a very young age and was only eleven years old when she won her first Canadian national junior title. Two years later, in 1942, the thirteen-year-old became the first female to ever land a double lutz in competition. From 1945 to 1948, she won the North American Figure Skating Championships.

  19. Toller Cranston

    Toller Cranston, CM (born April 20 1949) is a Canadian figure skater and artist. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1949 and grew up in Kirkland Lake. Cranston is credited by many with bringing a new level of artistry to men's figure skating. He was the Canadian national figure skating champion from 1971 to 1976. Although he never won a world level competition, he scored the highest marks in the free skate at four world championships.

    Lance Timothy Evers (born April 3 1969), known professionally by his ring name Lance Storm, is a semi-retired Canadian professional wrestler. He is best known in the western world for his work in World Wrestling Entertainment, Extreme Championship Wrestling, and World Championship Wrestling.     Ronald Scott Stevens (born 1 April 1964, in Kitchener, Ontario) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League. He was the captain of the New Jersey Devils and is among the NHL's all-time leaders in games played (both in the regular season and in the Stanley Cup playoffs).     Donovan Bailey (born December 16, 1967) is a Canadian former athlete. Born in Manchester, Jamaica, Bailey emigrated from Jamaica to Canada at age 13, and played basketball before his graduation at Queen Elizabeth Park High School in Oakville, Ontario. He began competing as a 100 m sprinter part-time in 1991, but he did not take up the sport seriously until 1994. At that time, he was also a successful stockbroker.     Joe "King" Krol (born on February 20, 1919 in Hamilton, Ontario) was a Canadian Football League quarterback, running back, and placekicker/punter from 1942-1953 and 1955. Krol played collegiately at the University of Western Ontario. Krol won six Grey Cups, five with the Toronto Argonauts. His #55 jersey is one of only four that has been retired by the Boatmen. He was awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete in 1946.
