  4. Marvin Barnes

    Marvin Barnes (born July 27 1952, in Providence, Rhode Island) is an American former professional basketball player. A 6'8" forward from Providence College, Barnes (nicknamed "Bad News") played in the American Basketball Association from 1974 to 1976 and in the National Basketball Association from 1976 to 1980. He had his most success in the ABA, where he starred for the Spirits of St. Louis and was named Rookie of the Year for the 1974-75 season.

  5. John Daly

    Hartford, Conn., native John Daly began working as a newspaper and television journalist after he graduated from Providence College. In 1990 he became the main anchor, then newsroom managing editor for KTNV-13 in Las Vegas, where his work as a producer and host helped the station to win three Emmy awards. John hosted Real TV, a nationally syndicated show, for four seasons, and recently formed Daly Productions, Inc., to develop television and film projects.

  6. Joe Hassett

    Joseph (Joe, or Joey) Patrick Hassett (born September 11 1955, in Providence, Rhode Island, US) is a retired American basketball player in the NBA. A 6'5" 180 lb guard, he played college basketball at Providence College, where he still shares a record with four other players to score at least 500 points in a season in three consecutive years. He also represented the US in the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City.

  7. Stu Jackson

    Stuart (Stu) Wayne Jackson (born December 11, 1955, in Reading, Pennsylvania), is an American former head coach and current executive in the National Basketball Association. He has coached two different NBA teams; the New York Knicks in 1990 and 1991, and the Vancouver Grizzlies in 1997; he also has served as the Grizzlies' general manager. Jackson worked as an associate coach and head recruiting coordinator under Pitino at Providence College from 1985-87.

    Gordon Chiesa is an assistant basketball coach for the Seattle SuperSonics. From 1989 to 2004, he served as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz. He coached as an assistant coach at Dartmouth from 1979 to 1981. From 1981 to 1985, he served as the head coach at Manhattan. In 1983, he was named the Metro Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. He later served as the head basketball coach at Providence College.

    Gary Cohen (born April 29,1958 in Queens, New York) is an American sportscaster, best known as a radio and television play-by-play announcer for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball. Cohen joined the Mets' broadcast team in 1989, after stints as the voice of the minor league Durham Bulls and Pawtucket Red Sox. He also called ice hockey and basketball games for Providence College, and football for Brown University.

He was re-elected - both as a state representative and as Majority Leader - in November 2006.

    Kurt Kleinendorst is an ice hockey coach who is currently the head coach of the Lowell Devils, the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils.
