Professor Julia King CBE FREng is the Vice-Chancellor of Aston University Prof King graduated from the University of Cambridge (New Hall) with a degree in natural sciences. Her PhD, also from Cambridge, was in materials. She was a lecturer at the University of Nottingham from 1980 to 1987, then at Cambridge from 1987 to 1994, when she moved to Rolls Royce where she held a number of senior positions.

After completing his DPhil in 1976 he worked for Rolls-Royce and the Atomic Energy Research Establishment.

Ernest Walter Hives, 1st Baron Hives CH MBE (21 April 1886-24 April 1965), was the one-time head of the Rolls-Royce Aero Engine division. Hives was born in Reading, Berkshire. During the Second World War he was closely involved with the design of the Merlin engine as well as numerous later Rolls-Royce jet engines. He began his working life in a local garage. However, in 1903 he got a job working at C. S. Rolls' car company, after fixing Charles Rolls' car.

Robert Alexander Holt Methuen, 7th Baron Methuen (born 22 July 1931) is a British peer. He is one of the ninety hereditary peers elected to remain in the House of Lords after the House of Lords Act 1999. A younger son of the 5th Baron Methuen, he was educated at Shrewsbury School and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in engineering in 1957. In 1994, he succeeded his elder brother to the title.
