    Rémy Martin is a French rugby union footballer, currently playing with Stade Français Paris in the Top 14 club competition in France, he has also played for France. His usual position is flanker. After living through Auschwitz, he accepted a United Nations scholarship that was being offered to Jewish survivors. He went to medical school in Germany while living with a German family that was forced to house him under the programme.

  7. Jules Saulnier

    Jules Saulnier (1817-1881) was a French architect. He is best remembered for his work on the Menier Chocolate Co. buildings in Noisiel, France. Many historians cite his 1872 building as the first true skeleton structure, having its exterior walls requiring only simple infill. The February 1997 issue of the Architectural Review called the iron and brick chocolate factory at Noisiel "one of the iconic buildings of the Industrial Revolution".

Rigord wrote the "Gesta Philippi Augusti", dealing with the life of the French king, Philip Augustus, from his coronation in 1179 until 1206.

    Jean-Charles Chapais, PC (2 December 1811 - 17 July 1885) was a Canadian Conservative politician, and considered a Father of Canadian Confederation for his participation in the Quebec Conference to determine the form of Canada's government. Chapais was born in Rivière-Ouelle, a small town in Kamouraska, Quebec, and was educated in Nicolet. Following his success as a farmer and merchant, in 1845 he became the first mayor of Saint-Denis, the town he had lived in from 1833.

He was born Benjamin-Hyacinthe Cherrier at Longueuil in 1757, the son of François-Pierre Cherrier, and studied at the Collège Saint-Raphaël. He settled at Saint-Denis on the Richelieu River, where he set up his practice as a surveyor. He was elected to the 1st Parliament of Lower Canada for Richelieu in 1792 and was reelected in 1796.

    Manasses II was the Archbishop of Rheims (1096 - 1106), most significantly at the time of the First Crusade and the Crusade of 1101. He was of the house of Châtillon, a son of Manasses the Bald, vidame of Rheims. He studied under Bruno at the cathedral school of the city. Bruno himself was a student of the Carthusian order. Manasses was first provost then treasurer of the cathedral. He was elected bishop in 1096 following the death of Renaud de Bellay.
