- Tony Martin
Anthony "Tony" Martin (born August 31, 1948 in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland) is a Canadian politician. - Jacques Marquette
Father Jacques Marquette (June 10, 1637-May 18, 1675) and Louis Jolliet were the first Europeans to see and map the northern portion of the Mississippi River. Father Marquette was born in Laon, France, and joined the Society of Jesus at age seventeen. After working and teaching in France for several years, he was dispatched to Quebec in 1666 to preach to the Native Americans, where he showed great proficiency in the local languages, especially Huron.

Paul Maurice (born January 30 1967 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) is a professional hockey coach. He is currently the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. In 1985, Paul played defence for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League. Carmen Provenzano (February 3, 1942-July 27, 2005) was a Canadian politician. He represented the Sault Ste. Marie electoral district in the Canadian House of Commons from 1997 to 2004. He was a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. Carmen Provenzano was a graduate of St. Mary's College in the Sault. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Windsor, and a law degree (LLB) from Queen's University in Kingston.
- James Loney
James Loney (born 1964) is a Canadian peace activist who has worked for several years with Christian Peacemaker Teams in Iraq and Palestine. On November 26 2005, he was kidnapped in Iraq with three CPT members, leading to a widely publicized hostage crisis. On March 23 2006, Loney was freed in a clandestine operation by multinational troops. While Loney was held as a hostage, his family and husband Dan Hunt withheld the fact of his homosexuality out of fear for his safety.

- Brian Finley
Brian Finley {b. July 13, 1981 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontariois a professional ice hockey player who currently plays goalie for the Boston Bruins organization. Finley is 6 feet 3 inches tall and 200 pounds in weight. Finley was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the first round, sixth overall of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Finley played most of his junior hockey as a member of the Barrie Colts of the OHL, before being traded in his final year to the Brampton Battalion.

Drew Fata (b. July 28, 1983 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada) is a professional hockey defenceman for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. He is the brother of Rico Fata, who has played for several NHL teams over the course of his career. When Islanders defenceman Sean Hill received a 20-game suspension on April 20, 2007 after testing positive performance-enhancing drugs, Drew Fata was called upon to take his place in the lineup.
- Paul Kane
Paul Kane (September 3, 1810 - February 20, 1871) was an Irish-Canadian painter, famous for his paintings of First Nations peoples in the Canadian West and other Native Americans in the Oregon Country. A largely self-educated artist, Kane grew up in Toronto (then known as York) and trained himself by copying European masters on a study trip through Europe. He undertook two voyages through the wild Canadian northwest in 1845 and from 1846 to 1848.

- Charles Albanel
Charles Albanel (1616 - 11 January 1696) was a French missionary explorer in Canada, and Jesuit priest. In 1649, he arrived in Canada, at Tadoussac. At the time when the Hudson's Bay Company was beginning operations, he was a leader of a French party that went by the Saguenay River, Lake Mistassini, and the Rupert River to Hudson Bay claiming the region for France. On another journey there he was captured in 1674 by the English and taken to England.

Sir William Howard Hearst, K.C.M.G. (February 15, 1864-September 29, 1941) was the Conservative premier of the Canadian province of Ontario from 1914 to 1919. His government passed legislation to permit women to vote in provincial elections, and held a plebiscite on prohibition. The plebiscite was held the same day as the 1919 general election.

John Prince (March 12 1796 - November 30 1870) was a lawyer, gentleman farmer and political figure in Upper Canada and Canada West. He was born in England in 1796 and studied in Hereford. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1821. He entered practice in Westerham, Kent and then Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. In 1833, he moved with his family to Sandwich (now Windsor) in Upper Canada. In 1835, he was named justice of the peace in the Western District.
