1. Russ Farwell

    Russ Farwell (from Calgary, Alberta, Canada) is the owner, governor, and general manager of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League. He is most well known for his stint as general manager of the Philadelphia Flyers from 1990 to 1994, during which he made a blockbuster trade with the Quebec Nordiques to acquire the rights to Eric Lindros.

    Dean Chynoweth (born October 30, 1968 in Calgary, Alberta) is a retired Canadian ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League for the New York Islanders and the Boston Bruins. Drafted 13th overall by the Islanders in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, Chynoweth played 241 regular season games in 10 NHL seasons, scoring 4 goals and 18 assists for 22 points and clocked up 667 penalty minutes. He was also the Head Coach of the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds.

Most media guides incorrectly list his birthplace as Aneroid instead of his actual birthplace of Swift Current, although he grew up in the former.

  5. Brooks Laich

    Brooks Laich (pronounced "LIKE"; born June 23, 1983) is a Canadian ice hockey player with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League. Laich was born in Wawota, Saskatchewan in 1983. In 2000-01, he was playing for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League. Scouting reports noted that he was a steady point scorer who was also prepared to work in a defensive role but he needed to work to develop his body to meet the demands of the NHL.

  6. Turner Stevenson

    Turner Stevenson (born May 18, 1972 in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada) is a retired professional ice hockey player. He played in 644 NHL games over parts of 13 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Philadelphia Flyers. He won the Stanley Cup with New Jersey in 2003. He is currently an assistant coach with the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds.

  7. Brent Bilodeau

    Brent Bilodeau retired ice hockey player born on March 23, 1973 in Clyde, Alberta. He was drafted in the first round (17th overall) of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens while a member of the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League, the third consecutive player to be drafted from that club by the Canadiens in the first round, after Lindsay Vallis and Turner Stevenson.

  8. Jame Pollock

    Jame Pollock (born June 16, 1979, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing in Germany for the DEL's Sinupret Ice Tigers. He was drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues. After playing four seasons in the Western Hockey League for the Seattle Thunderbirds, Pollock joined the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.

  9. Steven Goertzen

    Steven Goertzen (b. May 26, 1984 in Stony Plain, Alberta) is a Canadian-born ice hockey winger for the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets. He has also played professionally with the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch and the ECHL's Dayton Bombers. Goertzen started his junior hockey career with the tier II St. Albert Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, but soon caught on with the Western Hockey League's Seattle Thunderbirds.

    Ken Daneyko (born April 17, 1964 in Windsor, Ontario) is a retired ice hockey defenceman who played his entire career (1983 - 2003) with the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.     Zdeněk Blatný is a Czech professional ice hockey left wing. He was drafted in the third round, 68th overall, by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Currently, he is a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning organization. After four seasons in the Western Hockey League, with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Kootenay Ice, Blatný joined the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves for the 2001-02 season.
