Alexander Frei (born July 15, 1979 in Basel) is a Swiss footballer. He signed a 4-year contract with Borussia Dortmund on June, 29th. Dortmund paid a transfer fee of approximately 5 million euros for him. He played for Switzerland at Euro 2004 and at the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany. Until now he has been capped 54 times for his country (as of September 2006). Frei is only 3 goals short from being Switzerland's all time top scorer.

He is considered partly responsible for Switzerland's defeat at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, having opted to go first on penalties against the Ukraine and missing his shot.

Stephan Lichtsteiner (born January 16, 1984) is a Swiss footballer. Having represented Switzerland at every junior level, Lichtsteiner has played in the 1999 European Under-16 Football Championship and the 2004 Under-21 Championship. Born in Adligenswil, Lichtsteiner began his career at Grasshopper Zurich in 2001/02, and come the next year he became a first-team member, helping the Swiss team gain the league title.

Jakob "Köbi" Kuhn is a Swiss football manager and former player. During his playing career he got 63 caps for Switzerland and played primarily for FC Zürich. He also played one match for the Swiss national team in the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England. Appointed manager for the Swiss U-21 team some time after retiring, he was promoted to coach the senior national team in June 2001, replacing the Argentine Enzo Trossero.

Karl Rappan (September 26, 1905 - January 2, 1996) was an Austrian footballer and coach. He played and managed mostly in Switzerland, where he won multiple titles. He had four tenures as coach of the Swiss national team, which he managed in three World Cups, and is the all-time leader in matches won as coach of the Swiss team. He introduced a major football strategy known as the "bolt", which gave origin to the "catenaccio" system.

Roy Hodgson is an English football manager. He is currently the head coach of the Finnish national team. He is a tall, strong and a fearless fighter in the centre of the pitch. Born in July 1977, Huggel began his career with FC Münchenstein and FC Arlesheim, before completing his move to FC Basel in 1998. He first rose to prominence with his displays for FC Basel during their Champions League run in the 2002-2003 season.

Alfredo Foni (January 20, 1911 - January 28 1985) was an Italian footballer in the 1930s and later on a coach. He was born in Udine. Along with teammate Pietro Rava at Juventus, they were the best defensive partnership in 1936 Summer Olympics and 1938 FIFA World Cup. As a coach he won two consecutive scudettoes with FC Internazionale in 1953 and 1954. He later coached Switzerland in the 1966 FIFA World Cup. Foni died in Lugano, Switzerland.
