1. Carl Morris

    Carl Morris (1911-1993) was an American artist. Morris was born in Yorba Linda, California and he studied at the Chicago Art Institute and in Paris and Vienna. He opened the Spokane Art Center through the Federal Art Project during the Great Depression. He met his wife, sculptor Hilda Grossman (Deutsch) when he recruited her as a teacher for the center. Other notable teachers at the center include Guy Anderson and Clyfford Still.

  2. Ambrose McCarthy Patterson

    Ambrose McCarthy Patterson was a painter and printmaker born in Daylesford, Australia on June 29, 1877. He studied at the National Gallery Art School in Melbourne and continued his studies in Paris at the Académie Colarossi and the Académie Julian under Lucien Simon, André Lhote and Maxime Maufra. In Paris he became a friend of compatriot, Nellie Melba, the famous soprano. Through her influence, he was able to continue his studies with John Singer Sargent.

  6. Richard Rhodes

    Richard Rhodes , President Richard is a founding partner of Rhodes Architectural Stone, and a nationally recognized entrepreneur, artist, and designer with almost two decades of experience in the stone industry. He began his masonry career with a formal, hands-on apprenticeship in Siena, Italy. In 1984, he founded Rhodes Masonry, Inc., one of RAS’s principal affiliated companies.

  7. Claudia Hollander-Lucas

    Claudia is a painter who has exhibited her work at BVAU in Boston, Rutgers University in New Jersey, Portland Art Museum in Maine, Emerson College in Sussex, England, and the Tacoma Art Museum. Claudia earned a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and an MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

  8. Claire Cowie

    Claire Cowie Claire Cowie received a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from the University of Washington. She is represented by the James Harris Gallery, Seattle and the Elizabeth Leach Gallery, Portland. Recent awards include a Pollock-Krasner Grant and fellowships from Washington State Arts Commission, Artist Trust and the Behnke Foundation.

    Ms. Dressel is a graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science. She is a member on the Boards of Foss Waterway Development, Executive Council for a Greater Tacoma (Chair), Washington Bankers Association (Chair), the State of Washington Economic Development Commission, Washington Roundtable, and the Washington State Historical Society. She recently served as Board member of Bellarmine Preparatory School.

    John's work is represented in collections of the Seattle Art Museum, Brooklyn Museum in New York, Museum of Art/Rhode Island School of Design, H.J. Heinz Foundation in Pittsburgh, and the cities of Kobe, Japan, and Beersheba, Israel.

  12. Laurie Hall

    Laurie Hall is an art jeweler and teacher, who enjoys creating strong narrative pieces that incorporate incidents from her life and the American experience. Studied under the renowned jewelry artist and UW professor emeritus Ramona Solberg at the University of Washington. Laurie holds a B.A. Degree from Willamette University and a M.A.T. from the University of Washington.

  13. Charles M. Lovell

    Charles M. Lovell has been named director of the UNM Harwood Museum in Taos. He succeeds Robert Ellis who retired in June. "I am honored to have been selected as the new director of the Harwood Museum," Lovell said. Under Robert Ellis' leadership, the Harwood Museum has grown during the past 11 years to become one of the southwest's most important museums.

  14. Nathaniel Lanasa

    Nathaniel graduated in the top of his class from King's High School in Seattle, where he excelled in all areas of study. He managed to earn a 3.9 GPA while taking many honors and AP classes, and participating in many extracurricular activities. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and served as a class rep on his class council. He was also honored as a National Merit Scholar for the state of Washington when his PSAT test scores ranked him one of the highest in the state.

  15. James Porter

    JAMES PORTER President. Exhibition Designer/ Chief Preparator, Tacoma Art Museum. Visual artist. James holds an MFA from Central Washington University and his works are held in numerous private collections. New collaborative works (with Franklin Ackerley) will be included in a 2007 exhibition at the Arlington Museum of Art in Arlington, TX.

  16. William K. Street

    william k. street Since 1965, Mr. Street has directed The Ostrom Company as president and general manager. Earlier in his career, he was general manager of Elkhorn Ranch, Ltd. and vice president and general manager of Physio-Control Corporation. He also is a member and treasurer of the National Mushroom Council and trustee emeritus of the Tacoma Art Museum.
