Dynes appointed Abrams to serve as interim chancellor of UCLA starting June 30, 2006, succeeding Albert Carnesale. Gene D. Block has been appointed the next chancellor of UCLA. Susan Westerberg Prager (1942-) is the current president of Occidental College.
