- Tom Shipley
Tom Shipley with Mike Brewer are the popular music duo Brewer & Shipley. Currently Tom lives in Rolla, Missouri and works as the Manager of Video Production for University of Missouri–Rolla (UMR). Shipley's documentary style approach to producing promotional videos for UMR has resulted in a number of awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VI.

Magnus was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois and earned degrees in physics and electrical engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla before earning a doctorate in materials science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1996. She went to Central Junior high, which is part of belleville District 118.

Thomas Dale Akers is a former astronaut in the United States Space Shuttle program. He graduated from the University of Missouri–Rolla with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics in 1973 and 1975, respectively. In 1979, he entered the Air Force, and was selected for the astronaut program in 1987. Akers is a veteran of four shuttle flights in which he spent over 800 hours in orbit, including more than 29 hours of extra-vehicular activity (EVA) experience.

He was born in King City, and graduated from King City R-I High School in 1958. He then received a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Missouri–Rolla, in 1962, and a master's degree in engineering management in 1970 from the same school.

Janet Lynn Kavandi, a native of Springfield, Missouri, is an American astronaut and a veteran of three space shuttle missions. Kavandi graduated Valedictorian in 1977 from Carthage Senior High School - Carthage, Missouri. She went on to earn degrees in chemistry from Missouri Southern State College (bachelor's, 1980), the University of Missouri–Rolla (masters, 1982), and the University of Washington - Seattle (doctorate, 1990).
- Daniel C. Jackling
Daniel Cowan Jackling , was an American mining and metallurgical engineer who pioneered the exploitation of low-grade porphyry copper ores at Bingham Canyon, Utah. Jackling was educated in mining and metallurgy disciplines at the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri, now known as the University of Missouri–Rolla. In 1898, Jackling and Robert C. Gemmell made a detailed examination of this copper property.

Dr. Romesh Batra is a Professor in Department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech. He has made contributions to Continuum Mechanics and Nonlinear Elasticity and has published over 220 journal articles widely read and reputed referred journals. He was born in India and completed his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Punjab in 1968 where he won the "Gold Medal" for being first in three states.

Holmes graduated from Wilmington High School in 1941. Holmes served as a Naval Pilot in the Pacific Theatre in World War II. He then attended the University of Missouri–Rolla with the help of the G.I. Bill. He majored in mining engineering.

After high school I went to the University of Missouri - Rolla. I joined Tau Kappa Epsilon fraturnity where I lived and partied away 7 years of college. I left Missouri with a Batchlors and Masters in Chemical Engineering. The job market was pretty soft at that point was pretty soft so it took me a couple months to find a job. I landed a nice job with Michelin. I moved to South Carolina for 9 months of training before going to Fort Wayne.
