"I am not sure that I exist, actually. I am all the writers that I have read, all the people that I have met, all the women that I have loved; all the cities that I have visited, all my ancestors . . . Perhaps I would have liked to be my father, who wrote and had the decency of not publishing. Nothing, nothing, my friend; what I have told you: I am not sure of anything, I know nothing . . . Can you imagine that I not even know the date of my death?".

I am Hanna, half Swedish, some German, the rest British, secretly a mermaid! I am complex and tend to do extremes, it is hard for me to take the middle road and moderation doesn't seem to be in my vocabulary, therefore one of my life's goals includes learning balance! I have always loved learning and feel that life is about growing, evolving and constantly reaching to become a better person and a more enlightened spirit.

"Live all you can; it's a mistake not to. It doesn't matter so much what you do in particular so long as you have your life. If you haven't had that what have you had? I'm too old-too old at any rate for what I see. What one loses one loses; make no mistake about that. Still, we have the illusion of freedom; therefore don't, like me to-day, be without the memory of that illusion.

God, it's like a chuffing job interview this. You want to know the in-and-outs of the cat's arse, you do. What's happened to good old-fashioned 'getting-to-know-someone' by making human contact? Why do we have to advertize ourselves like brands of detergent? Buy me - I'm wittier than the next arsehole. No - buy me, I've got better taste in music. No - buy me, I wash with a lemon-fresh bluey-whiteness. Rant over.

My mother always said I was the best and most intelligent kid... but of course that wasn't true. Then my lovers always made me feel like the only one... but obviously that wasn't true either because they moved on. Truth is I'm like the rest of us mortals, but at the same time there's only one of me... and that's special, somehow, I guess.

So a section all about me - where do I start? I'm a mad 34 year old, who, due to the obscene house prices we are currently experiencing, lives at home with the folks. This isn't too bad in itself as they tend to pretty much leave me to it most of the time... I work to live and am currently studying for a BA in History and Archaeology. I hope to use this qalification in some way when I'm done in 2 years time but i don't know exactly what I'll do yet.
