  1. George D. Chryssides

    Dr George D. Chryssides is the senior lecturer and Head of Religious Studies at the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Sciences of the University of Wolverhampton. Chryssides holds a M.A. in Philosophy and a B.D. in Systematic Theology from the University of Glasgow and a D.Phil. in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Oxford. He has a particular interest in new religious movements, on which he has published extensively.

    Jenny Grace Jones is a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. She was elected as Member of Parliament in the 1997 general election for the Wolverhampton South West constituency, defeating the Conservative incumbent Nicholas Budgen with a majority of 5,118. However, fairly early on in Labour's first term in government, she announced that she would not be seeking re-election at the 2001 election. She was succeeded by Rob Marris.

  3. Cornelia Parker

    Cornelia Parker (born 1956) is an English sculptor and installation artist. She is generally associated with Britart. She was born in Cheshire; she studied at Gloucestershire College of Art and Design (1974-75) and Wolverhampton Polytechnic (1975-78). She received her MFA from Reading University in 1982, and an honorary doctorate from the University of Wolverhampton in 2000. In 1997, she was a Turner Prize nominee.

  4. Paul Willis

    Paul Willis is a leading British cultural theorist. He was born in Wolverhampton and received his education at the University of Cambridge and at the University of Birmingham. He worked at Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies and subsequently at the University of Wolverhampton. He is currently Professor of Social/Cultural Ethnography at Keele University.

    Swraj Paul, Baron Paul (born 1931) is an Indian-born, British-based business magnate and philanthropist. He was knighted by the Queen in 1978. In 1996 he became a life peer, i.e. a member of the House of Lords, taking the title Baron Paul of Marylebone in the City of Westminster.

    Michael John Foster (born March 14, 1963) is a British politician. He is the Labour Member of Parliament for Worcester. Michael Foster was in Birmingham, West Midlands and was educated at the Great Wyrley High School near Cannock, and the Wolverhampton Polytechnic where he was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1984. He later studied at the University of Central England where he received a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in 1995.

    Julian Peedle-Calloo (born 1977) is a Deaf British television presenter. He is a presenter on deaf magazine programme "See Hear". Peedle-Calloo has been deaf since birth. With a hearing aid he can hear a little, but most of the time he can't be bothered to wear it. He doesn't identify his deafness as a disability, but as himself being part of a linguistic minority. BSL is his first language, and English ("written and spoken") are his second language.

    Scott Anthony John Boswell (born 11 September, 1974) is a former medium paced bowler in cricket. Born in Fulford, Yorkshire, Boswell played both cricket and rugby for the first team at school and captained his house. After leaving school he attended the University of Wolverhampton where a shoulder injury stopped him playing rugby. Boswell then went on to play first for Northamptonshire and then for Leicestershire before moving to club cricket.

    Vaughan Grylls is a British artist and educationalist. Vaughan Grylls first showed at the ICA in 1970 immediately after leaving The Slade. He showed his ‘Pun-Sculptures’, an example being 'A Case for Wittgenstein' consisting of two white suitcases on one of which he had scrawled ‘I brought this in Case’ and on the other screened a photograph of the first case with ‘A Case for Wittgenstein' by Vaughan Grylls’ printed underneath in large black letters.

Well i have just finished the most gruelling year of my life so far, i am now a fully qualififed PE teacher, i have had a few bumps and bruises on the way i.e. 6 stiches in my forehead and an air ambulance ride with a neck brace on, and a few other concussions.
