    Milward Lee Simpson (November 12, 1897 - June 10, 1993) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Senator and as governor of Wyoming. Simpson was born in Jackson, Teton County, Wyoming. He attended the public schools of Wood River, Meeteetse, and Cody; and graduated from the University of Wyoming in Laramie (Albany County) in 1921. He then attended Harvard University Law School from 1921 to 1925.

He was also a county commissioner in Jackson, the seat of Teton County.

    Jack R. Gage (January 131899-March 141970) was an American politician who served as the Democratic governor of Wyoming from January 2, 1961 to January 7, 1963. Gage was born in Worland in Washakie County in north central Wyoming. In 1924, he received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Wyoming at Laramie (Albany County). He served in a number of state offices and was elected Wyoming secretary of state in the heavily Democratic year of 1958.

  15. Edward Herschler

    Edward Herschler (October 7, 1919 - February 5, 1990), popularly known as "Gov. Ed", was the Democratic governor of the usually Republican U.S. state of Wyoming from 1975 to 1987. Herschler built a personal appeal to voters based on charisma, a small-town background, and shrewd political maneuvering to such an extent that he was the only three-term governor in Wyoming history. Herschler served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

    Carleton Opgaard (born February 10, 1929 in Fort Ransom, North Dakota) was a high school and college administrator from the American Northwest. Opgaard obtained his bachelor's degree from Valley City State University in Valley City, North Dakota, in 1952. Thereafter, he received his master's degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington in Seattle. He attended the University of Oslo in Norway as a Fulbright scholar.
