    Dr. Greengard's interests have ranged from basic neural explorations to the development of therapeutic agents for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric diseases. His quest has significantly advanced scientific understanding of the molecular basis of nerve-cell communication.   3. Antonio Gotto

    Dr. Gotto has served as National President of the American Heart Association, as a member of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Advisory Council, and on the National Diabetes Advisory Board. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was the recipient of the 2000 Distinguished Alumnus award from Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.

    Dr. Michael H. Gold is the founder of Gold Skin Care Center, Advanced Aesthetics Medi Spa, The Laser and Rejuvenation Center and Tennessee Clinical Research Center located in Nashville, Tennessee. The Center began serving the Nashville community in 1990. Dr. Gold is a board certified dermatologist/dermasurgeon who oversees the various facets of the Center’s operations, a combination of medical and surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, aesthetic services and research endeavors.

She is a partner in Seattle Radiologists, one of the region's largest and most respected radiology practices, and began practicing at Swedish in 1990.

He earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Marshall University, a certificate in physical therapy from the DT Watson School, and an MS in physical therapy and education and a PhD in anatomy from the University of Kentucky.

    F. Peter Guengerich Professor of Biochemistry Director of the Center in Molecular Toxicology After receiving the bachelor of science degree in agricultural science from the University of Illinois in 1970, F. Peter Guengerich earned a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Vanderbilt in 1973. Guengerich went on to become a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the University of Michigan Medical School.

    Dr. Edward Faught has had a long and distinguished career as a neurologist. He is a native of Jasper, Alabama. He received his A.B. degree from Harvard University and M.D. degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in epilepsy and EEG at the University of Virginia Hospital. Dr. Faught joined the UAB Department of Neurology in 1980. In 1981, he founded the UAB Epilepsy Center.

  29. Michael H. Ebert

    Michael H. Ebert , M.D. was appointed in September 2002. He was born in Boston, Mass. , and graduated from Williams College in 1962 and the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1966. He was trained in psychiatry at two of the Harvard Medical School residency programs (Massachusetts Mental Health Center and Massachusetts General Hospital). Dr. Ebert's scientific training was primarily pursued at the National Institutes of Health.

He attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Logan was a urology resident at the Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston and a surgery resident at Cornell Medical Center in New York.   33. Cobb Pilcher

    COBB PILCHER was born on October 7, 1904, in Nashville, Tennessee. He died September 22, 1949, at age 45. A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (1927), Dr. Pilcher served as House Officer in Surgery at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (1927-1928), and then returned to Vanderbilt. He fulfilled his residency requirement there (1928-1932), and was appointed Instructor in Surgery (1931-1933).

    Dr. Loyd is currently the Rudy W.
