1. Ho Chi Minh

    Hồ Chí Minh was a Vietnamese revolutionary and statesman, who later became Prime Minister (1946–1955) and President (1946–1969) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Ho is most famous for leading the Viet Minh independence movement from 1941 onward, establishing the communist-governed Democratic Republic of Vietnam in 1945 and defeating the French Union in 1954 at Dien Bien Phu. Ho was fluent in Vietnamese, several dialects of Chinese, English and French.

  2. Trung Sisters

  4. Hùng Vương

    Hùng Vương was the first emperor of Văn Lang or Lạc Việt (as Vietnam was known at the time). Legend tells of the dragon lord, Lạc Long Quân and the mountain fairy, (sometimes a Chinese immortal) Âu Cơ who had 100 children, of whom Hùng Vương was the eldest. The parents belonged to different environments, so they had to split up and take half of the sons to each homeland. Hùng Vương went to live by the coast near the sea, the domain of dragons.

Phuong Thanh's native language, and 'lingua carta' is exclusively Vietnamese; she does not sing in English.

    Dat Nguyen (Vietnamese: "Nguyễn Tấn Đạt", born on September 25, 1975 in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas) is the first Vietnamese American to play in the National Football League. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and is currently their assistant linebackers and defensive quality control coach.

    Petrus Ky, born Dec 6, 1837, Vinh Long province, Vietnam, died Sept 1, 1898 ,also called Truong Vinh Ky, or Jean-baptiste Pétrus, is a Vietnamese scholar whose literary works served as a bridge between his civilization and that of the West.   12. Wang Li

    Wang Li, or Wang Liaoyi was a Chinese linguist. Born into a poor but educated family in Bobai (博白), Guangxi, he was largely self-taught before entering the Tsinghua University in 1927. There he was taught by Yuen Ren Chao and Liang Qichao, among others. Encouraged by Chao, he went to Paris to study linguistics in 1927. There he devoted himself to the study of phonology, and attended the class of Theoretical linguistics by Joseph Vendryes.

    Nguyễn Thuyên or Hàn Thuyên (韓詮) (dates of birth and death unknown) was a 13th-century Vietnamese official and writer. According to "Đại Việt sử ký toàn thư", in 1282, he composed a piece of writing, throwing it into the Red River to chase away a crocodile, similar to what the Tang Dynasty official and writer Han Yu once did.     Thongloun Sisoulith (born November 10, 1945 in Houaphan province, Laos) is foreign minister and a deputy prime minister of Laos. He was appointed foreign minister on June 8, 2006, replacing Somsavat Lengsavad. He has been a deputy prime minister since 2001. He is a politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, ranking eighth. Sisoulith studied at Pedagogical College of Neo Lao Hak Sat in Houaphan from 1962 to 1969.
