- Henry Wells
Henry Wells (December 12 1805 - December 10 1878) was an American businessman. He was born in Thetford, Vermont and moved to New York as a child. He started a school for speech disorders in his twenties, due to his own speaking problems. In 1836 he became a freight agent on the Erie Canal and soon founded his own company. In 1841 Wells hired William Fargo and soon the two men formed the American Express company.

William George Fargo (May 20, 1818 - August 3, 1881), pioneer American expressman, was born in Pompey, New York. From the age of thirteen he had to support himself, obtaining little schooling, and for several years he was a clerk in grocery stores in Syracuse. He became a freight agent for the Auburn & Syracuse railway company at Auburn in 1841, an express messenger between Albany and Buffalo a year later, and in 1843 a resident agent in Buffalo.

Richard "Dick" Kovacevich is the Chairman of Wells Fargo. A native of Tacoma, Washington, he was born on October 30, 1943. A graduate of Stanford Business School, Kovacevich worked for General Mills before joining Citicorp. According to some calculations, he was the 7th highest paid CEO in the world in 2003. - Victor Manuel Gerena
Victor Manuel Gerena (born June 24, 1958) is a New York native of Puerto Rican descent who is linked by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with the armed robbery of a Wells Fargo bank, in connection with the "Los Macheteros" group. On May 14, 1984, he became the 386th Fugitive listed by the FBI on the Ten Most Wanted list. He is still at large, and has spent the second longest time on the list since its inception in 1950 (surpassed only by Donald Eugene Webb).

James B. Hume (January 23, 1827-May 18, 1904) was one of the American West's premier lawmen. Born in Stamford Township, Delaware County, New York, he left home in 1850 headed for the gold fields of California with his brother John. He panned gold and mined for a number of years in addition to operating a trade store off and on. In 1860 he began his career as a peace officer serving as deputy tax collector for El Dorado County, California.

William A. "Pat" Patterson (October 1899 - 1980) was the president of United Airlines from 1934 until 1966. Patterson was born on a sugar plantation on Oahu, Hawaii. When Patterson was 13, his widowed mother moved to San Francisco, California, while he remained at Honolulu Military Academy. Not liking the academy, he decided to leave. He persuaded a captain to allow him to work on his ship in exchange for passage to San Francisco.

Wells Fargo is replacing its entire network of over 6,200 ATMs nationwide with new Envelope-Free ATMs. The new ATMs will simplify the deposit process for Wells Fargo customers by eliminating the need for deposits to first be placed in an envelope before being fed into an ATM. Wells Fargo has long been considered a leader in the use of ATMs for banking services, a position it has held since the early 1970s when it was one the first California banks to introduce ATMs to its customers.
