- Ben Rutten
Benjamin Rutten (born May 28, 1983) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League. Debuting in 2003, Rutten was initially positioned forward, where he had played for West Adelaide. On his debut he joined an elite club of players who have goaled with each of their first three kicks. His time in the first team was however limited, and he was moved to defence.

Mark Anthony Ricciuto (born June 8, 1975) is a prominent Australian rules football player, representing the Adelaide Crows in the Australian Football League. Ricciuto was born in Waikerie, South Australia. After some success in local leagues, he was recruited by SANFL team West Adelaide and soon after, was recruited by the Adelaide Crows as a rookie. He debuted in the AFL in 1993. Ricciuto quickly rose to prominence in the national competition.

John "Bunny" Daly was a former Australian rules footballer prominent in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) during it's developmental years between 1887 and 1903. Daly played his first match for Norwood as a 17 year old in 1887, in a holiday exhibition match against Port Adelaide. In front of 15,000 spectators the debutant displayed an exciting running, dodging type of game for which he would become famous.

Shane Tuck (born 24 December, 1981) is an Australian rules footballer, and the son of former Hawthorn footballer and VFL/AFL games record holder Michael Tuck and the nephew of Geelong Football Club legend Gary Ablett and former Hawthorn players Kevin and Geoff Ablett. Tuck finally made his AFL debut in 2004 for the Richmond Tigers two unsuccessful seasons with Hawthorn and a season with South Australian National Football League club West Adelaide Football Club.
- Tyson Edwards
Tyson Caleb Edwards (born August 6, 1976) is an Australian rules footballer with the Adelaide Football Club. Recruited from West Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL, Edwards made his AFL debut in 1995 and has since established himself as one of the AFL's most consistent midfielders. His greatest honour to date has been featuring in Adelaide's 1997 and 1998 premiership sides. As at the end of 2005, Edwards has played 221 games and kicked 142 goals.

Tony Laverne Modra (born March 1, 1969) played for the Adelaide Crows and Fremantle Australian rules football clubs in the Australian Football League. A full forward, Modra had the physical strength and size to match the best opposition full backs in the competition. He played in the number 6 guernsey for Adelaide.

Foster Neil "Fos" Williams (born February 21, 1922, died September 1, 2001) was an Australian rules footballer who played for and coached the Port Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He is the father of Mark Williams, the current coach of the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League, as well as Stephen Williams, a past coach and player of the Magpies.
- Jason Porplyzia
Jason Porplyzia (born November 27, 1984) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Known around the club as "The Porpoise", Porplyzia was drafted by the Adelaide Crows and placed on their rookie list in 2003 but failed to impress the selectors enough to warrant elevation. He was then delisted and returned to the SANFL with West Adelaide where he showed outstanding improvement, winning the club best and fairest award at the end of 2005.

Samuel "Sam" Fisher (born July 10, 1982) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. The young defender was selected as a smokey in the 2003 AFL Draft, at pick no. 55. He was 21 years of age when first recruited from West Adelaide, and soon made his debut in 2004 when he forced his way into the side following some injuries to key defenders.

Donald Neil Kerley (born February 20, 1934) is a former Australian rules football player and coach. Kerley played his career in South Australia in the SANFL, spanning 1952-1969. He played for West Adelaide, Glenelg and South Adelaide. He was revered not only in his hometown of Adelaide, but in Victoria, due to his presence in interstate State of Origin games. He represented South Australia 32 times, and was feared for his toughness.
