1. Robert Moses

    Robert Moses (December 18 1888-July 29 1981) was the "master builder" of mid-20th century New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. As the shaper of a modern city, he is sometimes compared to Baron Haussmann of Second Empire Paris, and is one of the most polarizing figures in the history of urban planning in the United States. Although he never held elected office, Moses was arguably the most powerful person in New York City government from the 1930s to the 1950s.

    Werner Stengel is a notable German roller coaster designer and engineer. He is the founder of Stengel Engineering, also known as Ingenieur Büro Stengel GmbH (or Ingenieur Buero Stengel GmbH). Born 22 August 1936, in Bochum, Germany, he first worked on amusement park rides in collaboration with Anton Schwarzkopf in 1963. He established his own company, Stengel Engineering, in 1965.

  4. Charles I. D. Looff

    Charles I. D. Looff was a master builder of hand-carved carousels and amusement rides in America. Looff built the first carousel at Coney Island in 1876. During his lifetime, he manufactured some forty carousels, several roller coasters and Ferris wheels, and built California's famous Santa Monica Pier. He became famous for creating the unique Coney Island style of carousel carving.

    Elmer McCurdy (January, 1880 in Washington, Maine - October 7, 1911) was an Oklahoma outlaw whose mummified body was discovered in the Nu-Pike amusement park in Long Beach, California in December 1976.

    George Arthur Boeckling (d. 1931) was the president of Cedar Fair, the company that owns many amusement parks, including Cedar Point.     Walter Marvin Knott (December 11, 1889-December 3, 1981) was a farmer who created the Knott's Berry Farm amusement park. In the 1920s, Walter Knott was a somewhat unsuccessful farmer, whose fortunes changed when he nursed several abandoned berry plants back to health.     F. Nelson Blount was president and founder of Blount Seafood Corporation, and as a millionaire collector of vintage steam locomotives and rail cars, he founded "Steamtown USA", whose collection is the basis of Steamtown National Historic Site. Blount died at the age of 49 on August 31, 1967 in a small aircraft accident. Blount's family was involved in the shellfish industry since the 1880s.

I helped build it, and now I work there maintaining the place. It's actually lots of fun. As I'm sure you can tell by the pictures, I like to ride. Dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, skateboards, and whatever else you can ride. Riding motocross is my favorite.

    The original Wildwood Boardwalk was constructed in 1900. It started with 150 yards of wood planks that stretched along what is now Atlantic Avenue. This was originated by the rail service so patrons could ride the trains without sandy feet. In the fall, the boards, which spanned from Oak to Maple Avenues, were pulled up and stored for the winter.
