Meteorologist Richard J. Ortner joined the 24/7 Weather Team in September 2000. A Colorado native, Richard first joined 7News in 1991 as an assignment editor. In 1993, he left KMGH to pursue a career as a meteorologist, with the goal of someday returning to Denver. Seven years later, the Emmy-award winning meteorologist returned to Denver's 7. Richard has master's degrees in meteorology and journalism.

GARY GRIGSBY began his second stint on the Missouri School of Journalism faculty in February 2004. He was previously on the faculty from 1990-92 when he was the Executive News Producer for KBIA, MU's NPR affiliate. Before that, Grigsby was an assistant professor in the Department of Journalism at the University of Mississippi from 1987-1990. Grigsby started his broadcast career as a reporter at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he worked for four years.
