George Friederich Sherrill (born 19 April 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee) is a lefthanded relief pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. Sherrill was not drafted after graduating from Austin Peay State University. Prior to joining the Mariners organization, Sherrill was a career player in the independent leagues. Sherrill began his professional career in 1999 with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League. In 2001, he was traded to the Sioux Falls Canaries of the Northern League.

Charles Richard "Bubba" Wells (born July 26 1974 in Russellville, Kentucky) is an American former professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks. Selected 34th by the Mavs in the 1997 NBA Draft out of Austin Peay State University, the little-used small forward's NBA career was short-lived, consisting of just 39 games of the 1997-98 season. Though he did start two games in March 1998, in place of the injured Cedric Ceballos.

- Riley Darnell
Riley C. Darnell (born May 13, 1940) is Secretary of State for the state of Tennessee. Darnell is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of Austin Peay State University and Vanderbilt University Law School. As an attorney, he was very active in Bar Association activities. He was elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives in 1970 and served five two-year terms in that body. In 1980 he was elected to the Tennessee State Senate.

His initial interest in sports was in baseball. He was a pitcher, but was advised that he had become too tall to remain competitive in baseball. Gustavus Adolphus Henry Sr. (1804 - 1880) was a prominent antebellum planter and lawyer, and a prominent member of the Confederate Congress during the American Civil War. Henry, a grandson of famed orator and revolutionary Patrick Henry, was a wealthy businessman, owning cotton plantations in Hinds County, Mississippi and Desha County, Arkansas. He was a classmate in law school with Jefferson Davis, and established a practice in Tennessee prior to the Civil War.

He attended Southwestern Presbyterian University, now Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and he was married to Ms. Carrie West a nurse graduate student.

- Bonnie Sloan
Bonnie Ryan Sloan (born June 1, 1948) was the first deaf football player in National Football League history. Sloan played four games at defensive tackle for the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1973 season. A native of Lebanon, Tennessee, Sloan starred at Austin Peay State University. He was drafted in the 10th round by the Cardinals, who released him after that one season. Former Denver Bronco Kenny Walker followed him into the NFL, in the early 1990s.

Rick Stansbury (born December 23, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky) is a native of Battletown, Kentucky and is the current head men's basketball coach at Mississippi State University (MSU). On March 13, 1998, Stansbury became the Bulldogs' 18th head basketball coach, replacing the retiring Richard Williams, who is Mississippi State's all-time winningest basketball coach. With his first win in the 2006-07 season, Stansbury moved into second place on that list.

So yeah I finally after being married for 4 years have managed to purchase a new (to me) Home in Lavergn Tn who would have thought I would stay down here. Don't worry friends Michigan is still part of me and will always be my second home. I miss being up there but I have a new job, new house and hope things will finally work out for me. I am thinking of transfering to MTSU soon hope I like it there I will miss APSU although I really have made no ties there.
