My name is Sam. I'm a high school graduate from Washington, DC, taking a year off and due to go to college at the University of Wisconsin - Madison in the fall of 2006. I'm a pretty easy going guy, I guess. I'm not very good at describing myself; in fact, I think self-descriptions are pretty stupid - at least when they're about one's personal characteristcs- because, after all, the opinion about you that others have is what really counts.

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk rejection. To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk ridicule. To is to risk not being loved in return. To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure. But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

I've been called a "Tree Hugger", and that's ok. I'm guilty as charged. :-) I have tremendous respect and love for the earth and all her creatures, great and small. A great man once said "If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great lonliness of spirit." I have a huge heart, loads of empathy, and a kind, generous nature. I'm a faithful, trustworthy, reliable friend. I love to laugh.

I am complex, and I am simple; I am content with my discontent. I see beauty in darkness; I see the sunshine and hope for the rain. I know the meaning of my life. _____________________________________________________________ "The only thing unbearable is that nothing is unbearable" -Rimbaud __________________________________________________________.

To know me is to think I'm kinda odd and geeky but in basically a good way. You wouldn't start looking for a realtor if I moved in next door.
