    Michael Skube is a Pulitzer Prize for Criticism winner. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University. In 1975 he started working freelance in journalism after working at the Customs Service. He began writing editorials for the Raleigh News & Observer in 1982 and became a book critic for the paper in 1986. He worked for that paper when he won the Pulitzer. After book criticism he went into teaching and joined Elon University in 2002.

    Ryan Notch (born July 7, 1979 in Houston, Texas) is an American photographer best known for his commercial and travel photography. Ryan Notch was cast in a children's variety show called "Kids Television" at the age of 14. At 17 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his film and television career. He spent the next couple of years as an actor with small roles in several television shows and feature films including Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Thirteen Days.

  7. Robert Model

    Robert Model (born 1942) is the son of Faith Rockefeller Model (1909-1960) and Belgian Jean Model. He is the great-grandson of Standard Oil co-founder William Rockefeller (1841-1922). Model was born in Greenwich, Connecticut. Model attended The Browning School and then graduated from Elon College in Elon, North Carolina in 1967. He is currently owner and President of Mooncrest Ranch in Cody, Wyoming and President of the Boone and Crockett Club.

    Horace Hendrickson was a football coach at Elon, and NC State. From 1937 to 1941, he coached at Elon, where he compiled a 31-12-1 record. His best season came in 1941, when his team went 8-1. From 1952 to 1953, he coached at NC State, where he compiled a 4-16 record. He played college football at Duke.

    James G. 'Jim' Exum, Jr. is an American jurist who served as an Associate Justice and Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. After earning his law degree at the New York University School of Law, Exum clerked for North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Emery B. Denny. He was briefly a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives before serving as a state Superior Court judge.

Hearn attended Elon College and what is now Mississippi State University. His 109 strikeouts in 1910 was an Elon single season record that stood for sixty seven years.

    Thaddeus Armie (Thad) Eure (1899-1993) was a North Carolina political figure who holds the record for longest tenure as North Carolina Secretary of State (1936-1989). Prior to his service as secretary of state, Eure served as mayor of Winton, NC, and as a state legislator. In 1987, President Ronald Reagan recognized Eure as having held public office longer than any official in the nation at that time, with more than 64 years of continuous service.
