    Edgar Schofield Baum (1916-2006) was an American artist typically associated with the Baum Circle, a group of artists either taught by, associated with, or directly influenced by Pennsylvania impressionist painter Walter Emerson Baum. Edgar was Walter Emerson Baum's eldest son. Edgar Baum worked in a wide variety of media, including oil and acrylic painting, dyes, sculpture, and writing (specifically poetry and wit).

His national leadership in family medicine has been widely recognized, and his dedication to the success of the UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine has earned him the admiration of the family medicine community at UCSF.
