Between 1992 and 2006, Dr Monath was Chief Scientific Officer and an Executive Director, Acambis (a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company) where he directed R&D on dengue, West Nile, Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, Clostridium difficile , and smallpox vaccines for defense against bioterrorism.

    Rachel Wade is a twenty three year old from Colorado Springs, CO. She has a sister Brienne who graduated from Miami of Ohio in December, 2003 and a brother, John, who graduated in 2005 from Colorado Springs Christian School and is now attending Colorado School of Mines. Her pet dog is a beagle, named Dusty. In 2001, Rachel graduated from Papillion-La Vista High School, where she played volleyball and ran track. She participated in state tournaments in both sports.

    Edward T. “Ted” Elliott Jr. , 50, of Lincoln, Nebraska died June 7, 2002 after a valiant battle with cancer. We mourn the loss of a colleague who shaped and cared so much for the future of the NREL. Ted was an internationally-renowned ecosystem scientist whose work provided important advances in ecology and soil science. Early in his career he illuminated the role of microscopic soil animals in controlling nutrient cycling and the functioning of whole ecosystems.

    Alison Mason Principal Alison’s work in the field of solar energy was recognized in 2004 by the American Solar Energy Society with the first ever “Women in Solar Energy” (WISE) award. Alison earned her B.S. in Materials Science from Rice University and her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on solar thermal technologies, from Colorado State University in 1993.

    Mr. Hudson has over 25 years experience in patent law. He started his career as a patent attorney with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA. He worked for five years preparing patent applications in the field of electric circuit breakers, high voltage switchgear and distribution systems, and static var generators.

    Tish Lockard Billing Manager Raised in the local Roaring Fork Valley, Tish moved to Fort Collins, CO, to attend Colorado State University. Upon returning to Western Colorado, Tish worked as a Software Support Technician for an analytic software development company from 1994 – 2001 where she gained much respect and knowledge of the trading markets. As a member of the Blizzard Internet Marketing team since 2001, Tish now enjoys the challenges of managing the Billing Department.

    Gareth Roberts, M.D. Dr. Roberts completed his BS degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, and then earned his M.D. from the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. He then completed his internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Roberts is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.

  21. Mary Severson

    Mary is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Emory, a position she assumed after serving as the director from 2000 to late 2003. Her recent efforts in technology transfer have focused on creative ways to maximize the potential of Emory's product pipeline, on creating solutions for complex licensing agreements, and to assist in the strategic management of Emory's patent estate.

  22. Darwood Kaye

    Darwood Kaye was born on Sept. 8, 1929 in Fort Collins, CO. He moved with his parents to Idaho, then Montana, then to California at the age of five. He started in pictures at age of 6 and worked in 40 films over 9 years, including 21 "Our Gang" comedies as "Waldo". He graduated from Hollywood High School and attended UCLA. After this he was enlisted in the army, spent 1 1/2 years in service, mostly in Korea.

    Leslie Trujillo , B.S., Certified Massage Therapist, is a graduate of the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, CO. As a practitioner of the Body Insight Method, she believes the "body speaks it mind" when expressing pain and tension.     Dr. Bob Atterberry, DVM, grew up in Fort Collins, CO. After five years of service in the US Army, Dr. Atterberry attained the rank of Captain and served as an Infantry Company Commander in the Korean War. He left the Army in 1953 and later received his DVM in 1960, focusing primarily on Pet-Related Small Animal Practice for 40 years, both in the San Francisco area, and in Northwest Arkansas.
