Erin Gruwell (b. 15 August 1969) is an American teacher. The 2007 film "Freedom Writers" was based on her story.

Jason Finn is an American actor. He played one of the students in Erin Gruwell's English class in the film "Freedom Writers", and also appeared in the film "Mercy Street", both of which were released in 2007.

He has appeared on the HBO program "The Wire" as Howard "Bunny" Colvin, and has also starred in the 2004 films "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" and "Ray", and the 2007 film "Freedom Writers". He has landed a regular role on season 3 of Prison Break playing the role of a Panamanian drug kingpin.

Kristin Lisa Almendarez (born February 21, 1989) is an American actress. She was born of Mexican and Puerto Rican descent in Los Angeles, California, where she resides. Kristin has two older brothers, named Ryan and Justin. She is athletic and enjoys sports. Her favorite sports are basketball and snow boarding she is also interested in Surfing. Herrera has a long list of acting credits. Her first TV role was in a phone service commercial.

Angela Alvarado Rosa is a Puerto Rican actress and music video director. She is the wife of singer Robi Dräco Rosa. Alvarado is the sister of Magali Alvarado. Joe Seo (born July 31, 1980 in San Francisco, California) is an Asian American actor. His first featured role came in Gridiron Gang (2006) as "Choi." The following year, he got to work alongside Academy Award-winning Hilary Swank in her classroom of Freedom Writers (2007). Although he was a lead in many independent films, in 2007, he landed his first lead in a feature film called Blueprint.

Don Pham Le (born September 20, 1983) is an Asian American actor. He was featured as one of Hilary Swank's main students in the 2007 Paramount Pictures film, "Freedom Writers".
