    Troy Smith (born July 20, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a former starting quarterback for The Ohio State University football team from 2004-2006, and the winner of the 2006 Heisman Trophy. He was selected with the 174th overall selection in the 5th round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Smith graduated from Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio where he was coached by Ted Ginn Sr., father of his Ohio State and high school teammate Ted Ginn Jr.

    Theodore "Ted" Ginn, Jr. (born April 12, 1985 in Cleveland, Ohio) is an American football wide receiver who currently plays for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.     Ted Ginn, Sr. (born 1955) was the coach of the Glenville Tarblooders football and track teams in Cleveland, Ohio. He coached Heisman Trophy winner and Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith and he is considered one of his father-figures. He is also the father of Miami Dolphins' wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr..   6. Hal Lebovitz

    Hal Lebovitz (September 11, 1916 - October 18, 2005) was a longtime sportswriter and award-winning columnist. He was a fixture on Cleveland's sports scene for more than six decades.   7. Wilson Hirschfeld

    Wilson Hirschfeld (September 4, 1916 - March 2, 1974) was a journalist and former managing editor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer who reportedly once remarked that he knew no one with as much integrity as himself *. In his teenage years Wilson attended Glenville High School along with Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, graduating in 1934. He served on Glenville High School's student newspaper, "The Torch", along side Siegel and Shuster.

  8. Delbert Fowler

    Delbert "Treetop" Fowler is a former American football player for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Fowler was born in Cleveland, Ohio where he played high school football for Glenville High School in East Cleveland, Ohio. After high school, Fowler attended West Virginia University where he played for the Mountaineers. He played between 1977 and 1980 as a defensive end. Fowler was drafted out of college in the 1981 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers.

  9. Aubrey D. Williams

    Aubrey was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Outer City Golf Club of Cleveland. He took many trips with the club and loved Myrtle Beach. Barbara sometimes accompanied him and took up the game. They were devoted to each other, but always had time to be a support and encouragement to their families. There were no children born to them. Aubrey was a leader and manager, beginning a career at Baker Lift Trucks.

  10. Everett Prewitt

    Everett Prewitt is currently President of Northland Research Corporation, a real estate consulting & appraisal firm. Everett is a native Clevelander, graduate of Glenville High School and Vietnam Veteran. He has a B.A. in Business Administration from Lincoln University and an M.A. in Urban Studies from Cleveland State University. Everett has served on just about every Board that exists in Cleveland and has served as committee chairman for several organizations.

    Antionette Thompson will be sworn in as Assistant Director of Parks, Recreation and Properties. Antionette Thompson has served the city of Cleveland for over 20 years, beginning as an Examiner with the Civil Service Commission. In 1987 she moved to the Division of Recreation as a Deputy Project Director.

    Roxanne Oliver - Born in Cleveland, Roxanne is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and Cleveland State University. She is an ED teacher at Glenville High School. She has worked there for the past 15 years. Before that, Roxanne worked at Charles Mooney where she also worked prior to last year. She is married and has five children and six grandchildren. Roxanne's passion is to bring about true inclusion of special education students at her school.

  14. Valerie Flewelon

    Valerie Flewelon is an American Airline Travel Academy instructor at Glenville High School. She is a 19 year veteran of the Cleveland Municipal School District. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Secondary Education from Central State University. A native of Lakeland, Florida (A suburb of Tampa) Valerie's philosophy of education is sharing the knowledge she's gained and enjoys seeing people grow from what she's taught.

  15. Barbara Boyd

    Barbara Boyd graduated from Glenville High School and received a BS in education from St. Paul's College in Virginia. Her involvement in politics began with the 1976 Carter-Mondale presidential campaign, when she worked at the 1976 Democratic Convention. From 1983 to 1992, Boyd served as a board member on Cleveland Heights City Council. She was elected to Council in 1983, and was re-elected in 1987 and 1991.
