  2. Ada Howard

    Ada Howard (1829 - 1907) was the first president of Wellesley College. Howard graduated from Mount Holyoke College (then Mount Holyoke Female Seminary) in 1853. Before joining Wellesley, she taught at Western College in Ohio and was principal of the Woman's Department of Knox College. She was president of Wellesley from 1875-1881.

She spent this summer at the Costa Rican office of the Center for Justice and International Law.

    Rachel Uris , VP of Resources and Communication Ms. Uris has over 16 years of experience working in development and marketing/advertising. Most recently Ms. Uris led Reed College's major gift programs in New York, Washington DC and Los Angeles. Prior to that she was the director of the annual fund for Planned Parenthood of the Columbia/Willamette, and worked in marketing as a client relationship manager and as a director of marketing.

  8. Patricia M. Rapinchuk

    Patricia Rapinchuk | 2003-2004 Pat Rapinchuk’s term as president marked the 25th anniversary of the Women’s Bar Association and only the second time that an attorney from western Massachusetts has held the office. The highlight of her tenure was the WBA’s strong support of the decision of the Supreme Judicial Court in Goodridge vs. Department of Public Health, which held that denying same sex couples the right to marry violated the Massachusetts Constitution.

  9. Jill Blackwood

    Jill Blackwood , USM ’83 (South Portland) is the Principal of Riverton School and Community Center in Portland. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she received her MSED in Literacy Education in 1983 from the University of Southern Maine and a certificate from The Maine Academy for School Leaders in 1993. Jill has 14 years of teaching experience at the early childhood, elementary and middle levels and has been an elementary school administrator in Portland for 13 years.

  10. Kathryn McHugh

    Kathryn McHugh Senior Loan Officer Kathryn McHugh joined Boston Community Capital in 2001. She markets Boston Community Loan Fund to potential borrowers, underwrites loan requests, and conducts ongoing portfolio management. Prior to joining the Loan Fund, Kathryn was a Program Officer at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation office in Providence; a housing development specialist with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health and a project manager at Cascap.

  11. Tracey Adams

    Tracey Adams Tracey Adams founded Adams Literary in 2004, after nearly a decade with literary agencies McIntosh & Otis and Writers House. Prior to becoming an agent, she worked in the marketing and editorial departments of Greenwillow Books and Margaret K. McElderry Books. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Tracey speaks frequently about her profession and the children's book industry at conferences across the country.

  12. Ada Howard

    Ada Howard was a graduate of Mount Holyoke College. Howard had taught at Western College in Ohio, been the principal of the Woman's Department of Knox College in Illinois, and operated Ivy Hall, a school for girls in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Although she had the title of President, many of the decisions concerning the College were made by the College's founder, Henry Fowle Durant. Howard left Wellesley for health reasons shortly after the death of Mr. Durant in 1881.

    Elizabeth Morrissey is Managing Partner at Kleiman International Consultants, Inc., which she co-founded in 1987. The firm is the pioneer independent analyst of emerging banking and securities markets, providing research and advisory services on emerging economies worldwide. The group's client base includes international banks, securities firms, brokerages, fund managers, multilateral organizations, and private investors.

  14. Caron E. Gentry

    Caron Gentry Caron E. Gentry is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Abilene Christian University. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College. She received her PhD in International Relations from the University of St Andrews. Caron’s work is published in Terrorism and Political Violence. She has co-authored a book with Laura Sjoberg that is slated for publication in the fall of 2007 with Zed Books.

  15. Kathryn E. Marquis

    Kathryn E. Marquis , Assistant Editor Kathryn joined TechTarget in November 2006. As Assistant Site Editor, Kathryn collaborates with the editorial team in the production of various newsletters, tips, and Ask the Expert Q&As. She is a recent graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a double major in Spanish and English, and gained valuable experience writing for the college newspaper and completing a senior thesis on Chaucer.

    Patricia Donovan , Vice President for Public Education Patricia Donovan directs the editing, production and dissemination of all Guttmacher Institute publications and oversees the Institute’s communications activities, including its Web site. She joined the Institute in 1972 as Editor of Family Planning/Population Reporter, a bimonthly that reported on court decisions and state laws pertaining to sexual and reproductive health.

  18. Carol Orvis

    Carol Orvis Carol Orvis has served as a board member of Questar III BOCES since 1990, including a year as vice president. Ms. Orvis served as a board member of the East Greenbush Central School from 1977-1992, including two terms as president. She also served as chairman of the Rensselaer County School Boards Association and president of the East Greenbush Education Foundation. She is a past presenter for the New York State School Boards Association.

  19. Laura Morgon

    Laura Morgon '02 Assistant Director of Admission Laura Morgon '02 is new to the Admission Office this year. A recent graduate of Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Critical Social Thought, her background includes study abroad in Copenhagen and travel to Kenya. While at Mount Holyoke, Laura was an intern in the Dana Hall Admission Office where she gained familiarity with the independent school admission process.

  20. Barbara Stallings

    Barbara Stallings A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Stallings has earned two doctorates: in political science from Stanford University, and in economics from the University of Cambridge. Her work has focused on economic reform and development, particularly in Latin America and East Asia; finance for development; development strategy; and international political economy.

  21. Ann Foley

    Ann Foley , Executive Vice President, Programming, is responsible for leading the company’s overall programming strategy and serves as the key liaison between East and West coast programming departments, as well as serving as a liaison between Programming and other corporate initiatives. Ms. Foley also oversees scheduling, analysis, talent relations, and new media for Programming, as well as all family programming for the company and original program development on the east coast.

  22. Florence Matilda Read

    Florence Matilda Read, a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, was elected president, effective September 1, 1927. As a condition of her acceptance, Miss Read requested that Spelman establish an endowment fund and use the interest to help defray the cost of operations. The trustees used her request to solicit funds that eventually totaled more than $3,000,000.

    Dianne Fuller Doherty - Dianne is the Regional Director of the Western Massachusetts Regional Office of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network (MSBDC). Dianne served as President and CEO of Doherty-Tzoumas Marketing, a full service advertising and public relations firm based in Springfield from 1985-1991. Prior to that she was Executive Director of Downtown Springfield Marketing, an organization whose mission was to promote downtown Springfield.

  24. Diane G. Wolf

    Ms. Wolf is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, received a master of library science from Columbia University, and is a Distinguished Member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Throughout Ms. Wolf's career, she has had teaching responsibilities, both formal and informal. Her students have included medical students, physicians, librarians, library assistants, and office staff.

    Lee K. Anthony (Trustee/Founder/Parent, Head of School) is a cum laude graduate of Mount Holyoke College and received an MBA from the Colgate Darden School at University of Virginia. She has worked in the financial services field in New York City, and was Administrator of the Primary Care Center and Associate Director of the Blue Ridge Sanatorium at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

    AMY E. GOTWALS joined n4a in September 2005 as Director of Public Policy and Legislative Affairs. Amy leads n4a's advocacy efforts to ensure that needed resources and support services are available to older Americans and their caregivers. Amy has 11 years of public policy, lobbying, and grassroots organizing experience.

  27. Helen Newton Everett Springer

    Helen Emily Chapman Springer (1868-1949) was a pioneer Methodist Episcopal Church missionary to Rhodesia and the Congo. She graduated from Holyoke High School in Massachusetts and Women's Medical College in Philadelphia. In 1890 she sailed for Africa and soon married William Rasmussen (n.d.-1895). The Rasmussens arrived in Lower Congo, Africa, in 1891. Due to ill health they were forced to return to the United States after only a year and a half.

  28. Ann Reynolds

    Ann Reynolds Dr. Reynolds is an educator and author who has been teaching genetics and biology since 1990. An affiliate faculty member of the Genetics Department at the University of Washington, her research has included studies of gene regulation in E. coli, chromosome structure and DNA replication in yeast, and chloroplast gene expression in marien algae. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and received her PhD from Tufts University.

  29. Leslie Harroun

    Leslie Harroun is a newly and happily transplanted Maine resident. She spends her days as Senior Program Officer for the Oak Foundation’s North American marine and global warming portfolios, which she has managed since 1998, and the rest of her time enjoying Maine’s rich natural environment and cultural scene. Leslie has nearly 20 years of experience working on environment and sustainable development issues.

  30. Ashley Brooks

    Ashley Brooks – Manager of Community Education and Outreach Ashley Brooks is a longtime resident of Nantucket. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and holds a MSW from Boston University. Prior to earning her social work degree Ashley served three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cape Verde, West Africa where her primary focus was community development and health education.

  31. Rosalie Anders

    Rosalie Anders , Project Coordinator, City of Cambridge Rosalie Anders is a project coordinator for the City of Cambridge. She works on transportation and energy issues and is the author of the City’s pedestrian plan and coauthor of its Climate Protection Plan. Before working for the City, she was Associate Director of Council for a Livable World and co-founded and led the Sustainable Cambridge Coalition, a grassroots environmental organization.

  32. Elizabeth Hitchcock

    Elizabeth Hitchcock is Communications Director for U.S. PIRG. Before joining the U.S. PIRG staff in 1990, she worked on a number of environmental campaigns with PIRGs in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Florida. Ms. Hitchcock has worked with the program and field staffs of the PIRGs to release several reports to the national and local media on such issues as product safety, financial consumer rip-offs, enforcement of the Clean Water Act, toxic chemical accidents and air pollution.

  33. Elizabeth D. Scheibel

    Elizabeth D. Scheibel Northwestern District Attorney Elizabeth D. Scheibel is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Western New England College School of Law. Following law school, Betsy worked for eight years in the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office. During her tenure in Hampden County, much of her case load involved the prosecution of child sexual assault cases. In May 1993, Betsy became the District Attorney for the Northwestern District.

  35. Meg Tolan

    MEG TOLAN has been an active member of FCC since she returned home with eldest daughter Hannah in 1995. She was one of the original organizers of FCC's first Culture Day, FCC's single mom support group and most recently has contributed to FCC's newsletter. Meg is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College and Fordham University School of Law and has been employed at the NYSE Division of Enforcment since 1989.

    Beth is an Account Executive for the Cromwell Group with a recruiting specialty of information technology positions in Texas. Prior to joining the Cromwell Group, Beth had a career in HR software sales working with clients including First Data, Turner Broadcasting, CNN, Alcatel, The State of Georgia and Georgia Pacific.
