I listen to NPR and drink breakfast tea or coffee (sometimes espresso) in the morning. I find that when I drank coffee or espresso (I have both a French Press AND an espresso machine), I would really have to pee during my long training runs. I qualified for the prestigious Boston Marathon by running 3:09 in the Chicago Marathon (top 3.8 percent!). I can get through the Monday-Wednesday NY Times Crossword, but after that I look like the jock I am.

sometimes, when it's cold outside, and there's a warm fire burning in the fireplace, i like to curl up with a nice cupcake and just stroke it's icing for hours, whispering sweet nothings into it's multi-colored sprinkles. and when the time is right, i gently slide the cupcake out of it's foil garment and and.... well you know the rest *wink*.

I had a liver transplant in 91 b/c of a tumour (hepatoma). I have been cancer free since then. This is my journey in the world of triathlon. There are ups and there are downs. And I know during the rough times, I will keep pounding. Even if I have to claw my way through. God did not give me a new liver to sit around. I know He will be there with me every stroke, every pedal, every step. I can't explain why I do what I do.
