I'm from the small town of Choctaw, Oklahoma...which is about 15 minutes or so outside of Oklahoma City. Life is simple and slow there, yet I craved excitement and meeting open-minded people...so I left to explore the world by joining the Navy when I was 17.

I've just arrived at 40, to find that the agonising over getting there was far worse than the reality! At Christmas, we made the decision to home educate our son of 11 and it's turning out to be a very rewarding experience for us all. My career is temporarily on hold while we re-adjust as a family to this new way of life, but as a creative person, I know it's only a matter of time before I find my new road into the next leg of my career.
