- Casey Hampton
Casey Hampton (born September 3 1977 in Galveston, Texas) is an American Football nose tackle who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. Hampton (#98) was selected out of the University of Texas in the first round with the 19th overall choice of the 2001 NFL Draft by the Steelers. He quickly emerged as a solid player in the middle of the defensive line while logging considerable time as a rookie.

Chris Hoke (born April 6, 1976) is a professional football player in the NFL, and currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a college career at Brigham Young University, Hoke was undrafted. In 2004, Hoke totaled 24 tackles and 1 sack after taking over the starting nose tackle position for the injured Casey Hampton six games into the season.

Isaac "ICEBOX" Sopoaga (born on September 4, 1981 in Pago Pago, American Samoa) is a player in the NFL. He plays the nose tackle position. He was one of the strongest players in the draft, performing 42 bench-press repetitions of 225 pounds, bested only by Igor Olshansky's 43 in NFL testing history, but has yet to translate such strength to the playing field. He went to University of Hawaii.

Kelly Gregg (born November 1, 1976 in Wichita, Kansas) is a nose tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. He was a standout wrestler and defensive lineman in high school. He played for the Oklahoma Sooners in college from 1995-1998, and provided some of the only bright spots during the bleak Sooner campaigns of the mid-1990s. Buddy Lee, so dubbed by his NFL teammates for his resilience and determination, was selected in the 6th round of the 1999 NFL draft by the Bengals.

Joel Steed (born February 17, 1969 in Frankfurt, Germany) is a former American football nose tackle who played eight seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He went to the University of Colorado at Boulder.
- Jim Burt
Jim Burt (born June 7 1959 in Orchard Park, New York) is a former American football player who played for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). Burt played nose tackle for the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXI and the 49ers team that won Super Bowl XXIV. Burt attended the University of Miami, where he starred on the football field for the Hurricanes and was eventually inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame.

James Reed (born February 3, 1977 in Saginaw, Michigan) is an American football nose tackle for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. The New York Jets drafted him in the seventh round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Iowa State University. At Iowa State he helped get the Cyclones there first bowl win ever. He played under legendary coach Dan McCarney. On April 17, 2007, Reed was re-signed to the Chiefs with a three-year contract.

- Fred Smerlas
Frederic Charles Smerlas (born April 8, 1957 in Waltham, Massachusetts) was a 5-time NFL Pro Bowl selection during 14-year career as a nose tackle with the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots. Smerlas, of Greek-American descent, graduated from Waltham High School in 1975, where he was a star football player and wrestler. He became a defensive lineman for Boston College before embarking on an NFL career.

Timothy A. Krumrie (born May 20, 1960 in Menomonie, Wisconsin) is a former American Football nose tackle who played his entire NFL career for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1983 through 1994. Krumrie is currently the Defensive Line Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs. He played his high school ball in Mondovi Wisconsin and college ball at the University of Wisconsin. - Michael Carter
Michael D'Andrea Carter, is a former U.S. Olympian track & field athlete and American pro football player. Carter is best known in track & field for setting the national high school record of 81 feet 3 ½ inches in the 12 pound shot put, adding more than nine feet to the record previous to Carter. He set this mark at the 1979 Golden West Invitational track & field meet while competing for Jefferson High School of Dallas, TX.

Chris Cooper (born December 27, 1977 in Lincoln, Nebraska) is a player in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals. He plays the nose tackle position. He went to the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 6th round (184th overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft. He was traded to the Dallas Cowboys in 2004. The 49ers signed him in the 2004 offseason. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks and then released and signed with the Arizona Cardinals.

- Jim Burt Jr.
Jim Burt Jr. (born April 23, 1981 in Allendale, New Jersey) is the son of Jim Burt (a former NFL American football player who played nose tackle for the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXI and the 49ers team that won Super Bowl XXIV). Burt Jr. was famously carried on his father's shoulders after the Gianst won Super Bowl XXI. Burt Jr. was a standout linebacker for Bergen Catholic. He was on the Bergen Catholic three-time State Championship Team from 1995-1998.
