- Dot Richardson
Dorothy ("Dot") Gay Richardson (born September 22, 1961 in Orlando, Florida) is a former international softball player. She used to play on the sidelines at her brothers' baseball games. She was a key part of the United States national team that won the gold medal during the sport's Olympic debut in 1996. After her win at the Olympics, she went on to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Mark Stephen Adickes (born April 22, 1961 in Bad Cannstatt, Germany) played high school football (American football) in Killeen, TX and was an All-American offensive lineman at Baylor University in Waco, TX before joining the the Los Angeles Express of the now defunct USFL. Adickes then moved to the NFL where he played for the Kansas City Chiefs and later the Washington Redskins where he won a Super Bowl ring in 1991.
- Frederick Banting
Sir Frederick Grant Banting, KBE, MC, MD, FRSC (November 14, 1891 - February 21, 1941) was a Canadian medical scientist, doctor and Nobel laureate noted as one of the co-discovers of insulin. Banting was born in Alliston, Ontario, Canada. After studying medicine at the University of Toronto and graduating in 1916, he served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps during World War I. He won the Military Cross during the war.
- Jakob Heine
Jakob (or Jacob) Heine (April 16, 1800, Lauterbach (Black Forest, Germany) – November 12, 1879, Cannstatt, Germany) was a German orthopaedist. He is most famous for his study, in 1840, into poliomyelitis, which was the first medical report on the disease, and the first time the illness was recognised as a clinical entity. Poliomyelitis is often known as "Heine-Medin disease", after the work of Heine and Karl Oskar Medin.
- Robert Kerlan
Dr. Robert K. Kerlan (May 13, 1922 - September 8, 1996) was an American orthopedic surgeon and the co-founder, along with Dr. Frank Jobe, of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. Kerlan was the Los Angeles Dodgers' first team doctor after their move from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958, and diagnosed Dodgers pitcher Sandy Koufax with traumatic arthritis in his left elbow. Kerlan died in Santa Monica, California at age 74.

- Henry Gassett Davis
Henry Gassett Davis (b. November 4 1807, Trenton, Maine - d. November 18 1896, Everett, Massachusetts) was an orthopedic surgeon. He founded the traction school of orthopedic surgery and created the first splint for traction and protection of the hip joint. Henry was a later descendent of Dolor Davis of early Cape Cod, Massachusetts. As a boy he intended to be a mechanic and a manufacturer of cotton bagging, similar to his father.
- Louis Stromeyer
Louis Georg Friedrich Stromeyer (1804-1876) was a German surgeon who was born in Hanover. After receiving his doctorate from Berlin in 1823, he spent his career in several European cities, but is largely known for his work done in Hanover. He was also a military surgeon during the First War of Schleswig (1848-1851). Stromeyer was a pioneer in orthopedics and orthopedic surgery.
- Carl Nicoladoni
Carl Nicoladoni (April 23, 1847 - December 4, 1902) was an Austrian surgeon who was born in Vienna. He received his medical doctorate from the University of Vienna, and later was a professor of surgery at the Universities of Innsbruck (1881) and Graz (1895). Nicoladoni specialized in orthopedic and reconstructive surgery. He was particularly interested in research and diagnosis of scoliosis and published several treatises on the disorder.

- Edville Gerhardt Abbott
Edville Gerhardt Abbott was an American orthopædic surgeon born in Hancock, Me., and educated at Bowdoin College. He was well-known through his mechanical so-called "Abbott's method" of treatment of lateral curvature of the spine. In 1913 he demonstrated his method in England and on the Continent. He was professor of orthopædics at Bowdoin College and was connected with the Maine General Hospital, the Children's Hospital, etc.

Dr. Imad Matti Sarsam ("also transliterated: Emad") was a highly reputed Iraqi orthopaedic surgeon, teaching at the Department of Orthopedics in Baghdad University and as assistant professor at the Baghdad Medical College, who was assassinated on August 31, 2004, just three months after his participation in an international conference of shoulder and elbow surgeons in Washington, D.C.. His qualifications included FRCS (UK), D.Sc (Ortho.) and M.B.Ch.B.
- Louis Léopold Ollier
Louis Léopold Ollier, full name Louis Xavier Édouard Léopold Ollier was a French surgeon whose father and grandfather were also physicians. In 1857 he earned his medical degree from the University of Paris. In 1860 he became chief-surgeon at the Hôtel-Dieu in Lyon, and in 1877 he became a professor of clinical surgery. Ollier is famous for his work in orthopedic and reconstructive surgery.
