  1. Anita Ramasastry

    Anita Ramasastry is the Associate Director of the Center for Law, Commerce & Technology and an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Washington School of Law in Seattle. She joined the faculty in 1996. Her research and teaching interests include law and technology, international commercial law and banking and payment systems.

  2. Patricia Timmons-Goodson

    Patricia Timmons-Goodson is an associate justice on the N.C. Supreme Court . The daughter of a U.S. Army officer, she was raised on military bases in the United States and Europe. After working as a private attorney, she was appointed a District Court judge in 1984, then elected three times. In 1997, she was appointed to the N.C. Court of Appeals , retiring in 2005.

    She has taught Internet Law, Copyright, and Information Privacy at Brooklyn Law School and was a Visiting Fellow with the Oxford Internet Institute , teaching a joint course with the Said Business School , Media Strategies for a Networked World . Previously, she was a staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation , specializing in intellectual property and First Amendment issues, and a litigator with Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel in New York.

    Larry Rosenstock , principal of High Tech High in San Diego, will discuss the evolution of HTH, including how the HTH faculty and staff implement their vision and deliver impressive learning outcomes for underprepared, academically challenged high school students in San Diego.     Victor Tafur , Staff Attorney : Victor Tafur joined Riverkeeper in September 2004 after completing his Masters in Environmental Law at Pace Law School and serving as a staff attorney at the Pace Law School's Energy Project. At the Energy Project, Victor represented environmental and community interests in proceedings involving the siting of energy facilities in New York State, and was responsible for research on energy policy and climate change nationally and in developing nations.

    Adrienne Lockie is a Practitioner-in-Residence with the Women and the Law Clinic. She began her teaching career at Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 2004 where she was the Director of the Domestic Violence Advocacy Project and taught in the Women’s Rights Litigation Clinic. Prior to entering academia, Ms. Lockie represented victims of domestic violence as a Staff Attorney with Safe Horizon’s Domestic Violence Law Project in Manhattan.

    Jayesh Rathod is a Practitioner-in-Residence with the International Human Rights Law Clinic. Prior to joining the faculty, he was a Staff Attorney at CASA of Maryland, representing low-wage immigrant workers on employment law and immigration matters, and participating in worker education, organizing, and advocacy efforts.

    Vanessa Potkin Staff Attorney Vanessa joined the Innocence Project in 2000 as its first Staff Attorney. She litigates in state and federal courts nationwide on behalf of convicted people seeking DNA testing to prove their innocence. As an adjunct professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, she assists in teaching and supervising students of the legal clinic.

    Lauren Dame is the Associate Director of the IGSP's Center for Genome Ethics, Law & Policy, and teaches courses on Bioethics and Genetics & the Law at Duke Law School. Ms. Dame's areas of interest include bioethics, genetics, biomedical research and the protection of human subjects, healthcare policy, and the effects of technology on privacy. She is a Faculty Associate of the Trent Center for Bioethics, Humanities and History of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.

This ten-state campaign provides legal, technical and organizing support to Sierra Club volunteers working to reduce the Midwest�s overdependence on coal, secure investments in clean energy solutions, and curb global warming.

    Eric. E. Huber, Senior Attorney Eric E. Huber is a senior attorney based in the Boulder, Colorado regional office. He has practiced environmental law for 17 years, with an emphasis on litigation under the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the laws protecting the National Forests. Before joining the Sierra Club, he was a staff attorney with Earthjustice, the Georgia Center for Law in the Public Interest, and in private practice.

    Gwen Hinze - Gwen Hinze is a Staff Attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation, specializing in intellectual property and Internet regulation policy issues. She has worked on various EFF cases involving the impact of copyright law on technology and freedom of expression online. Before joining EFF, Gwen worked at the Federal Court of Australia, and with the Australian government in public policy and litigation.

    Julie Kay - Staff Attorney Julie F. Kay is a Staff Attorney at Legal Momentum in the Sexuality and Family Rights Program. She works to expose the federal government's promotion of a harmful, right-wing agenda about women's autonomy, sexuality and role in society and the family. In particular, Ms. Kay challenges gender bias and sex discrimination promoted by federal "abstinence-only" programs.

    Seth Schoen is creating the position of EFF Staff Technologist, helping other technologists understand the civil liberties implications of their work; EFF staff better understand the underlying technology related to EFF's legal work; and the public understand what the technology products they use really do. Schoen comes to EFF from Linuxcare, where he worked for two years as a senior consultant. While at Linuxcare, Schoen helped create the Linuxcare Bootable Business Card CD-ROM.

    Sanjay Narayan , Staff Attorney Sanjay Narayan joined the Sierra Club as a staff attorney in 2002. Before coming to the Sierra Club, Sanjay worked for the Northern Rockies office of Earthjustice in Bozeman, Montana, and for Farella Braun Martel LLP in San Francisco. Sanjay received an A.B. in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University in 1991, along with a certificate in Soviet Studies. The Soviet Union disintegrated shortly thereafter.

  28. Carina M. Leeson

    Ms. Leeson focuses her practice on family law and commercial litigation, including contract disputes, employment and construction law. She formerly served as a Staff Attorney of the 15th Judicial Circuit, assigned to the Circuit Civil, Family, Probate, and Civil Appeals divisions. Ms. Leeson assisted the Judiciary with all aspects of complex litigation by performing extensive legal research and writing, drafting proposed final judgments, orders and bench memoranda.

  29. Rebecca Troutman

    Rebecca Troutman , Staff Attorney : Rebecca Troutman joined Riverkeeper in September 2006 and works with boat captain John Lipscomb on dredging and pollution issues identified as requiring either resolution or litigation, as well as on various other Riverkeeper matters. During the summer of 2006, she was a legal intern in the Pace Environmental Law Clinic, under the supervision of co-directors Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

    Dawn Viggiano is the Center’s Staff Attorney. She is a graduate of The Ohio State University, with a B.S. in Psychology. She also graduated from Capital University Law School, Summa Cum Laude, with a concentration in child and family law. Prior to attending law school, Dawn worked as a teacher for five years at both public and private schools in New Jersey. She also served as Managing Director of a Huntington Learning Center.

Lewis, I&M's Vice President -- External Relations, has responsibility for corporate communications, state government relations, environmental relations and community relations in both Indiana and Michigan. Previously, he was AEP's assistant general counsel for Legal -- Regulatory Services, based in Fort Wayne. In that role, he had responsibilities for regulatory activities in the Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas jurisdictions.
