Santiago Calatrava is one of my favourite contemporary architects. It is not because he is Spanish, it is just because he is special. He is an architect and an engineer, what indeed influences his way of designing bridges, public spaces, and buildings. Raised in New York City, I'm really a good ol' boy at heart. After 31 years of life in New York State, I moved South of the Mason/Dixon line and haven't looked back since! There is a saying that goes, you can take the boy out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the boy. I've also heard that you can call yourself a Southerner after living here for at least half of your life. - Greg Keenan
