  1. James H. Fetzer

    James Henry Fetzer (born December 6, 1940 in Pasadena, California) is an American philosopher and Distinguished McKnight University Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He is also known for his advocacy of 9/11 conspiracy theories and Kennedy assassination theories.

  2. Kim Martin

    Kim Martin is a Swedish national ice hockey goaltender. She plays her club hockey with AIK's women's team and has also played with Hammarby IF's junior men's team. As of the 2005-06 season she belongs to Malmö Redhawks of the men's second tier league, and she was scheduled to make her debut at that level on March 8, 2006, as the first woman ever in Sweden.

  3. Junior Lessard

    Lucien Lessard Jr (b. May 26, 1980 in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, Quebec, Canada) is a professional ice hockey player for the Dallas Stars organization of the National Hockey League. Lessard attended the University of Minnesota Duluth where he led the NCAA in goals (32) and points (63) during the 2003-04 season, numbers that would be good enough to win the Hobey Baker Award. He also led the WCHA in the same categories with 19 goals and 39 points in conference play.

  4. Matt Niskanen

    Matt Niskanen (born December 6, 1986 in Virginia, Minnesota, USA) is an American professional ice hockey defenceman. He was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the first round, 28th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Niskanen currently attends the University of Minnesota Duluth. In 2005-06, his freshman season on the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs hockey team, he recorded 14 points in 38 games.

  5. Caroline Ouellette

    Caroline Ouellette (born on May 25, 1979 in Montreal) is a Canadian ice hockey player. She is a member of the Canadian national women's ice hockey team. Ouellette attended and played for the University of Minnesota Duluth. She joined the national team in 1999 and has won four world championships (1999, 2000, 2001 and 2004) and two Olympic gold medals with the team (2002, 2006).

  6. Tom Kurvers

    Thomas "Tom" Kurvers (born October 14, 1962, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA) is a retired professional ice hockey defenceman who spent 11 seasons in the National Hockey League between 1984 and 1995. He was a member of the 1986 Stanley Cup Champion Montreal Canadiens. Currently, he serves as an executive for the Phoenix Coyotes.

  7. Brett Hauer

    Brett Hauer (b. July 11, 1971 in Richfield, Minnesota) is a professional ice hockey defenceman, currently playing for Yaroslavl Lokomotiv in the Russian Super League. Hauer was selected in the fourth found of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, 71st overall, by the Vancouver Canucks. He has played for the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators at the NHL level.   8. Mark Pavelich

    Mark Pavelich (born February 28, 1958 in Eveleth, Minnesota was American ice hockey forward). Mark's parents immigrated to America from Croatia. Mark is best known for being a member of the Miracle On Ice, the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey gold medal team. He got the only assisist on the game winning goal by Mike Eruzione. Mark would go on to play in the NHL with the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, and San Jose Sharks.

  9. Keith Hendrickson

    Keith Hendrickson is a former college hockey player who was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 1977. Although Hendrickson never competed in the NHL he was a strong force in college hockey in the late 1970s, when he played for the University of Minnesota (Duluth).

    Ericca Kern is a professional female bodybuilder and model from the United_States. Ericca was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 18, 1965. Her family moved frequently but settled in Hermantown, Minnesota in 1975. At the age of 18 Ericca discovered she had an eating disorder. In 1985 Ericca was attending the University of Minnesota Duluth and found a small weight room.

    Tamika Maria Raymond (born April 12, 1980, in Dayton, Ohio) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Minnesota Lynx in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She was known as Tamika Williams before marrying former University of Minnesota Duluth basketball player Ben Raymond in April 2007.

  12. Kimon Friar

    Kimon Friar (1911-May 25, 1993) was a Greek-American poet and translator of Greek poetry. Friar was born in 1911 in Imrali, Turkey, to an American father and a Greek mother. He was brought to the United States in 1915 and naturalized soon after in 1920. As a child, Friar had problems with the English language, and so he focused all his energy on art. He discovered poetry at a young age, and, as a teenager, became interested in drama.

  13. Ron Busniuk

    Ron Busniuk, born August 13th, 1948 in Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ontario is a Canadian hockey player. He played NCAA hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and was an All-American his senior year. After graduation, he played in the AHL with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs and the Cincinnati Swords. He took First Team AHL All-Star honors. Bosniuk played most of his career in the WHA with the Minnesota Fighting Saints, New England Whalers and Edmonton Oilers.

  14. Tim Stapleton

    Tim Stapleton (born July 9, 1982 in La Grange, Illinois) is an American professional ice hockey forward. After two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers, Stapleton represented the University of Minnesota-Duluth for four seasons, where he led the team in scoring as a freshman and had back-to-back 40 point seasons. After a brief stint with the Portland Pirates of the AHL, he signed with Jokerit of the Finnish SM-liiga, completing a tryout which led to a one-year contract.

    Eric Gustafson is a journalist at "The Economist", where he has written on politics, economics, and current events in Britain, Europe, the Middle East, and America. He has been awarded the Robert Blair Award by the Kólbitar literary club at Oxford, the Brighton Reporting Prize, the Moorgate-Islington Legion Commendation, and in 2003 his reporting on the Pentagon earned him honorable mention at the Gerald R. Ford Journalism Prize ceremonies.

  16. Mark Holsten

    Mark William Holsten is an American politician in Minnesota. Holsten, a Republican, served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1993 to 2002. He represented district 56A until November 2002 and, after redistricting, won election in 52B but was appointed Deputy Commissioner of Natural Resources before the following session started. He served as chairman of the House Environment and Natural Resources Finance Committee.

A native of India, Amit got his bachelors degree in Computer Science from IIT Roorkee in 1989. Amit holds a MS in Computer Science from University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.

    Chris Marinucci is a retired ice hockey player who played briefly in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings and the New York Islanders. He also played with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Denver Grizzlies, Utah Grizzlies, Phoenix Roadrunners, Chicago Wolves, Kakudo, Berlin Polar Bears, Idaho Steelheads, and Bjorkloven IF. At the start of his career, he first played four years with his University hockey team.
