I wear my mother's elephant around my neck. It is one of the few items that I took from hr colletion of jewelery after her passing. It is gold and beautifully colorful. Someone called it "very indian" once (hmmm...). The trunk of the elephant points upward, I've been told that's for good luck and strength...so I thank her for leaving this symbol with me always....Elephants are also symbolic of gonesh, I have a dear friend who gave me a picture of gonesh.
