1. John Bell

    John Farmer Bell (born April 14, 1962) is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the southern rock band Widespread Panic. He is frequently called "JB" by fans. Bell attended the University of Georgia when he, Michael Houser, and Dave Schools met while Houser was playing at an open mic night. "Panic," as Houser was nicknamed, began playing with JB and Schools at local Athens, GA clubs, playing mostly covers.

  3. Michael Houser

    Michael Houser (January 6 1962 - August 10 2002) was the lead guitarist of the band Widespread Panic. Born in Boone, North Carolina, Houser became a founding member of "Widespread Panic" in 1982 while attending the University of Georgia with John Bell. His distinctive playing style was featured on the band's first seven studio albums and is responsible for the band's moniker: "an honest tune with a lingering lead".

  4. George McConnell

    George McConnell is a guitarist from Vicksburg, Mississippi who played for Widespread Panic, Kudzu Kings, and Beanland. He attended the University of Mississippi where he was in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. McConnell co-founded Beanland in Oxford, Mississippi in 1985 with guitarist Bill McCrory. After some early shuffling, the band's line-up consisted of McConnell and McCrory on guitar, John Hermann on keyboards, Ron Lewis on bass, and Harry Peel on drums.

    Big Sam (Sammie Williams) is a trombonist and band leader from New Orleans, Louisiana. He has been a member of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and currently leads Big Sam's Funky Nation. In youth he studied with educator and saxophonist Kidd Jordan and at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA). Playing with the Dirty Dozen allowed him to meet and play with other touring bands and musicians such as Karl Denson, Dave Matthews, Widespread Panic and James Brown.

    Ephraim Owens (b. Nov 5, 1972 in Dallas, TX) is a musician, composer, and jazz bandleader who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. Owens began playing trumpet in elementary school, after classmates urged him to join the school band. He continued his music education at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and earned a music scholarship to Southwest Texas State University.

    Music pretty much what defines what I'm doing and when. I don't play an instrument (a mean air guitar though), but music pretty much consumes my time and focus. I would love to be the guy behind the scenes getting tours together and making sure there are fans in the stands! I, along with a couple of close friends, are currently in the works in starting a promotions company that focuses on promoting local Milwaukee artists.

When we're not touring, I live in Washington, DC and enjoy throwing parties and going out on the town. I play drums for a band called Mobia's Project which is an improvisational rock band. I am always interesting in doing new things and meeting new people.
