    Tom Byers is a professor at Stanford University in the USA. He concentrates in the area of high-technology ventures and serves as the faculty director for the Stanford Technology Ventures Program. Byers was an early employee at Go Corporation and Symantec. He is also brother of famous entrepreneur Brook Byers. At Stanford he has established and directs Stanford Center for Entrepreneurial Studies to train and encourage students to become entrepreneurs.

    Ronald E. Barr is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, where he has taught since 1978. He previously taught at Texas A&M University.     Kane has been active in ASEE since 1975, and since 1985 has held many Graduate Studies Division offices. He was Professional Interest Council (PIC) IV chair, a member of the ASEE Board as PIC Vice President from 1994-1996, and chaired the ASEE Awards Policy Committee from 1996-1999. He served as an ASEE campus representative, and is a regular attendee at ASEE regional meetings. He received the Graduate Studies Centennial Certificate in 1993.

    Carolyn W. Meyers (ASME member) Dr. Carolyn W. Meyers , a past vice president of ASME’s Board on Minorities and Women, is president of Norfolk State University. She has held administrative posts at North Carolina A&T State University, the Center for Success of the Southeastern Universities and Colleges Coalition in Engineering Education (SUCCEED), and Georgia Tech.   11. Mary Sadowski

    Dr. Sadowski has taken an active role in developing a university wide component of Service Engagement and Learning to expand learner-centered, interdisciplinary, and experiential opportunities for students and promote personal growth, leadership, real-world problem solving, career development, and citizenship. She is also a member of the Purdue Discovery Learning Task Force whose primary task is to explore futuristic technologies and strategies for teaching excellence.

  12. Theodore A. Bickart

    Theodore A. Bickart, president emeritus of the Colorado School of Mines, earned his baccalaureate (1957) and his doctorate (1960) in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He spent 26 years at Syracuse University, departing as professor and dean of engineering. His teaching and research spanned a broad spectrum in electrical networks and systems. He co-authored two books, wrote or co-authored more than sixty journal papers, and advised sixteen doctoral students.

  13. Sudhir Mehta

    Sudhir Mehta is an active member of ASEE both regionally and nationally. He is currently the North Midwest Section campus representative and was the section chair in 1996-1997. He has served on the executive committees of the New Engineering Educators and Graduate Education Divisions. He has presented papers in eight of the last nine national conferences, and has participated in seven of the last eight regional meetings.

    Gerald S. Jakubowski became dean of the college of science and engineering and professor of mechanical engineering at Loyola Marymount University in 1989. Previously, he held the positions of interim dean and associate dean of research and graduate studies in the Herff College of Engineering at the University of Memphis, and assistant dean of engineering undergraduate studies at the University of Toledo.

  15. Dean Robert Davis

    Robert H. Davis Dean and Patten Professor Robert H. Davis is the Patten Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of California at Davis in 1978, and his master's and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from Stanford University in 1979 and 1982, respectively.

    Robert English is chairman and professor of engineering technology at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Newark, New Jersey. Prior to NJIT, he was on the engineering technology faculty at Purdue University in the MET and CIMT programs. His industrial experience as a metallurgist includes positions with General Battery in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Globe-Union, Inc. and Babcock and Wilcox, both in Milwaukee.

  17. Daniel C. Davis

    Daniel C. Davis has served with the Minorities in Engineering Division as treasurer, program chair, vice chair, and chair in ASEE. He is currently a member of the Minorities in Engineering Award Committee. During his leadership period, the Minorities Division became more viable within ASEE, having grown in membership, having important sessions of interest at the national meetings, and increasing members' interactions with other divisions of the Society.

    J. P. Mohsen is an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Louisville, where he has taught since 1981; he holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He began his service in ASEE in 1986 when he attended his first ASEE Annual Conference in Cincinnati, and has since attended every ASEE Southeast Section meeting and many ASEE and Frontiers in Education national meetings, serving in various capacities at both the national and section level.

    Eugene F. Brown is professor of mechanical engineering and associate provost for program development in research and graduate studies at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, instrumentation, gas dynamics, turbomachinery, and aircraft and missile propulsion.

  21. Nancy L. Denton

    Nancy L. Denton is an associate professor of mechanical engineering technology at Purdue University, where she teaches courses in basic and experimental mechanics, controls, design documentation, and machine diagnostics. Her educational endeavors focus on strengthening ties between the classroom and industry; generating interest in engineering and engineering technology in pre-college students, especially from underrepresented groups; and development of students' testing and writing skills.

    Lawrence H. Hare became vice president of operations and chief operating officer of Johnson Controls World Services in 1998, where he oversees a workforce of over 8,000 employees operating at 42 sites domestically and internationally.     Hossein Salehfar Hossein Salehfar received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas-Austin, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station. He was a research assistant with the Electric Power Institute at Texas A&M University during 1985-1990. Salehfar was an assistant professor of electrical engineering at Clarkson University from 1990 to 1995.

    Albert McHenry Prior to being named Interim Vice President of Arizona State University and Polytechnic Campus Provost, Dr. Albert McHenry served as dean of the College of Science and Technology at Arizona State University's Polytechnic campus. He assumed this position on July 1, 1998, after serving as Director of the School of Technology at ASU, then ASU's Polytechnic campus since 1994.

  37. Nelson A. Macken

    Nelson A. Macken Nelson A. Macken is the Howard N. and Ada J. Eavenson Professor of Engineering at Swarthmore College. He has been active in ASEE for 25 years at both the local and national levels. He regularly attends Middle Atlantic Section meetings, served as chair and has been an active member of the section's executive committee for over 20 years.

  38. Daniel C. Drucker

    Daniel C. Drucker , a renowned engineering educator and former ASEE president, died September 1 of leukemia in Gainesville, Fla. , at the age of 83. A longtime member of ASEE and a recipient of the National Medal of Science, Drucker served as the society's president from 1981-82 and was chairman of the Engineering Deans Council from 1975-77. Drucker was also one of ASEE's original Fellows.

  39. Frank Croft

    Frank Croft is Associate Professor and head of the Engineering Graphics Section in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science (CEEG) at Ohio State University. He has belonged to the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and its Engineering Design Graphics (EDGD) Division since 1973. Croft has serving as EDGD vice-chair and chair from 1988-1990.

  40. Ronald E. Terry

    Ronald E. Terry is a professor of chemical engineering at Brigham Young University (BYU) and past associate dean of the Engineering and Technology College at BYU. He has also taught at the University of Kansas and the University of Wyoming and received teaching awards at each of the universities that he has been privileged to serve.
