I find it impossible to describe myself - if you knew me in high school, you'd probably be surprised; then again, I still smell kind of like patchouli. I just got back from teaching English in Morocco for two years (which is also how I met my husband and cat) - I especially liked explaining the proper usage of vulgarities. I've been trying to learn Arabic for almost three years - so far, I can talk about your mom's butt pretty fluently.

So, about me ... I've gotten sucked back into academia. But at least it's fun! I spend as much time as possible outside and/or catching birds. I spend about half the year on the north shore of Kauai. I work on how hormones affect physiology and behavior in Laysan Albatross (in Hawaii) and a bit in White-crowned Sparrows (in the lab). I love hanging out with my friends. I also like sitting by myself and reading an entire book. A bad day can be completely fixed by margaritas, queso, enchiladas, an

I'm Emily. I live in Chicago, by way of New Hampshire, by way of Pennsylvania, by way of PG County, Maryland. If you're from there, you understand why that is worth mentioning -- and why it is also worth mentioning that I am NOT from "MoCo". I like normal things that normal people like. For example: 1) I like to make hand crafted greeting cards. 2) I enjoy designing lighting concepts in rooms with good cross ventilation.
- Stuart Brewster
I graduated college with a Creative Writing degree a year ago June, spent the ensuing summer herding tourists in Alaska, and am now traveling the country with a roaming band of no good dogooders. I have little idea what I should do next, except I want it to involve being both hopelessly idealistic and happy at the same time.

I have lived here off and on for 16 years but I have seen most of the US. I never had much of a childhood and I was never into sports, although pool is not really a sport, it is a game based off of physics and it is pretty much the only game I play.

"How do we forgive our fathers? Maybe in a dream? . . . Do we forgive our fathers for leaving us too often when we were little, or scaring us with unexpected rage or making us nervous because there never seems to be any rage at all? . . . Shall we forgive them for their excesses of warmth, or coldness, shall we forgive them for pushing, or leaning, or shutting doors, for speaking through walls, or being silent? . . . If we forgive our fathers, what is left?"-.

Well, I'm a fairly random person at best. I like everything from playing the violin to flag football, from partying it up a few times a month to spending a Friday night alone in my room, from traveling around the world to volunteering in my community. I must say I'm a hopeless romantic, and I LOVE doing little unexpected things for other people.

"Who are YOU?" said the Caterpillar. This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I--I hardly know, sir, just at present-- at least I know who I WAS when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then.".
