    Mark S. Hanson (1946-) is currently the Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, having been elected in 2001. He also serves as president of the Lutheran World Federation. The Rev. Mark S. Hanson was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on 2 December 1946. He was raised in a Lutheran family in Minnesota.
