1. Gerald Of Aurillac

   Gerald of Aurillac or Saint Gerald (c. 855 - 909) is a French saint of the Roman Catholic Church, sometimes recognized by other religious denominations of Christianity. Gerald was born into the Gallo-Roman nobility as the son of the Count of Aurillac, to which title he succeeded. The details of his life known today come primarily from the "The Life of St. Gerald of Aurillac" (c. 930-931) written by St. Odo of Cluny.

2. Paul Doumer

   Paul Doumer was the President of France from June 13, 1931 until his assassination. Born in Aurillac, in the Cantal "département", in France. He was Governor-General of French Indochina from 1897 to 1902. After returning from French Indochina, Doumer served as President of the Chamber of Deputies (a post equivalent to the speaker of parliament) from 1902 to 1905. 3. Emile Duclaux

   Emile Duclaux (June 24, 1840 - February 5 1904) was a French biologist and chemist who was born in Aurillac. In 1862 he was an assistant in the laboratory of Louis Pasteur. Later he became a professor in Tours (1865), Clermont-Ferrand (1866), Lyon (1873) and Paris (1878). For much of his career he was associated with the work of Louis Pasteur. Duclaux's work was mainly in the fields of chemistry, bacteriology and agriculture.

4. William Of Auvergne, Bishop Of Paris

   William of Auvergne(1190-1249) was the Bishop of Paris from 1228 to his death in 1249. He was a Scholastic philosopher at the University of Paris before being raised to the episcopate. He was born in Aurillac in the last years of the twelfth century. He went to Paris to study there and was made a professor first in the faculty of arts and then that of theology in 1220.

5. Bénilde Romançon

   Saint (Brother) Bénilde Romançon, FSC was a Christian Brother who was born as Pierre Romançon on June 13, 1805 in the town of Thuret in France to a farming family. In 1818 Pierre, aged 13, first saw the Christian Brothers in a market at Clermont-Ferrand. He instantly felt a strong desire to become a Brother. Despite the objections of his father, he was enrolled at the Brothers' school at Riom.

6. Borrell II, Count of Barcelona

   Borrel II was Count of Barcelona, Gerona, and Ausona from 947 and Count of Urgel from 948. He was the son of Sunifred II. During his reign, he employed the title "dux Gothiæ", or "Duke of Gothia." In 947, he retired his father to a monastery and took over the government of the Counties: Barcelona, Gerona, and Ausona. He ruled jointly with his brother Miro I until 966. 7. Géraud Réveilhac

   Géraud François Gustave Réveilhac (16 February 1851 in Aurillac (France) - 1937) was a French career officer, raised to the rank of Général de brigade on December 21 1909, commanding officer of the 42nd Infantry Brigade, he was then Commandeur of the Légion d'honneur.

8. Adalelm Count of Troyes

   Adalelm was the Count of Troyes from 886 to his death. He was a son of Emenon, Count of Poitou, and a Robertian. He succeeded his maternal uncle Robert I, Count of Troyes, in 886. In 891, he organised the transferral of the abbey of Saint-Loup to within the walls of the town. In 893, he confirmed the donation of Chaource to the abbey of Montiéramey, made originally by his uncle. In 894, he and his brother Adhemar of Poitou attacked Aurillac, but he died fifteen days after.
