His record breaking car, Thrust2, travelled at 633.468 mph (1019 km/h). Thrust SSC the supersonic car driven by Andy Green broke the record at 763.035 mph (1221 km/h) or Mach 1.02.

Leo Joseph Ryan, Jr. (May 5 1925-November 18 1978) was an American politician of the Democratic Party. He served as a U.S. Representative from the 11th Congressional District of California from 1973 until he was murdered in Guyana by members of the Peoples Temple shortly before the Jonestown Massacre. After the Watts Riots of 1965, then-Assemblyman Ryan took a job as a substitute school teacher to investigate and document conditions in the area.

Eddie August Schneider (October 20, 1911 - December 23, 1940) set the transcontinental airspeed record for pilots under the age of twenty-one in 1930. When he received his pilot's license, he was the youngest licensed pilot in the United States. He was a pilot in the Spanish Civil War in the Yankee Squadron and he died in 1940 while training a new pilot, when a bomber clipped his tail at Floyd Bennett Field.

Ryan Sumere, (February 10th 1978 - August 4th 2006) was an instructor with the Brampton Flying Club, who along with student Vinoo Abraham, 26, both of Mississauga, Ont., were killed when their single-engine, propeller-driven Cessna, collided with another plane over Caledon, ON, above a farmer's field, 60 kilometres northwest of Toronto. The second plane was piloted by 57-year-old David Morton of Burlington, who was also killed.

Stefan Kudelski is a Polish audio engineer, famous for creating the top quality Nagra series of professional audio recorders. He was born in Warsaw in February 27, 1929 in a family with engineering background. In 1939 the family fled the war, moving to Hungary, France and later to Switzerland. He studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and constructed his first tape recorder there, as a student project.

Gnagy pioneered drawing on television in America during the 1940s and early 1950s and was quite popular among children. Known to millions, Gnagy was born at Varner's Forge, an outpost settlement near Pretty Prairie, Kansas in 1907. The pioneer environment of his first seven years at the Forge and family farm reflect a strong influence in his work as an artist.
