Braxton Bragg Comer (November 7, 1848 - August 15, 1927) was an American Democratic politician who was the Governor of Alabama from 1907 to 1911. - Frank Thomas
Frank W. Thomas (November 15, 1898-May 10, 1954) was the head football coach of the University of Alabama from 1932 to 1946. During his tenure, he compiled a 115-24-7 (.812) record and won two national championships (1934 and 1941). His winning percentage ranks second all-time among Alabama coaches (behind Paul "Bear" Bryant). He never coached a losing season, but coached two 10 win seasons.
- Neil Callaway
Neil Callaway is the current head coach of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Blazers college football team, the third coach in the program's history. Callaway, a 1974 graduate of Central High School in Macon, Georgia, played collegiately at the University of Alabama for legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant as a lineman and linebacker.
- Albert Means
Albert Means was a high school football star and later a college football player. Means became well known because of the rulebreaking that surrounded his recruitment by college programs. Means was a standout defensive tackle at Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee. As a high school senior in 1999-2000 he was Tennessee's Mr. Football, a high school All American and was one of the most highly regarded football players in the nation.

Jermareo Davidson (born November 15, 1984 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American basketball player currently with the Charlotte Bobcats. He was previously a power forward for the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team. Along with Ronald Steele, they provide one of the best 1-2 punches in college basketball. Davidson is considered one of the best power forwards in the nation. His coach was Mark Gottfried.
- Howell Heflin
Howell Thomas Heflin was a United States Senator from Alabama, and a member of the Democratic Party. Although born in Poulan, Georgia, Heflin was the nephew of prominent Alabama politician James Thomas Heflin. Following graduation from high school, Heflin attended Birmingham-Southern College (graduated 1942) and the University of Alabama Law School (graduated 1948).
- Jeremiah Castille
Jeremiah Castille (born January 15, 1961 in Columbus, Georgia) is an American professional football player. A 5'10", 175-lb. defensive back from the University of Alabama, Castille was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 1983 NFL Draft. He played in six seasons in the NFL from 1983-1988 for the Buccaneers and Denver Broncos. Castille's best season as a pro was in 1985, when he recorded 7 interceptions.

Harvey Edward Glance (born March 28, 1957) is a former American athlete, winner of gold medal in 4x100 m relay at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Born in Phenix City, Alabama, Glance equalled the 100 m world record of 9.9 twice in 1976. At first in April 3, he ran 9.9 in Columbia and then a month later in Baton Rouge. As an Auburn University student, Glance won the NCAA 100 m championships in 1976 and 1977 and 200 m championships in 1976.

Justin Smiley (born on November 11, 1981 in Ellabell, Georgia) is an offensive lineman in the NFL. He currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers. He was drafted by the 49ers in the 2nd round (46th overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft. He went to University of Alabama. Smiley has excellent quickness, a great burst off the line, moves well laterally, and can block on the run. A natural pull-and-trap blocker who can stay in front of the running back on a sweep.

- Ted Roof
Ted Roof is the head football coach at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Prior to his promotion to head coach on December 6, 2003, Roof had been a defensive coordinator at Duke and Georgia Tech, where he had been an All-American linebacker. In 2000, he was nominated for the Frank Broyles Award, given to the nation's top assistant coach. He began his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Alabama, from 1987-1988.

Alan S. Kaufman (born April 1944) is an American psychology professor known for his work on intelligence testing. Born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island, Kaufman earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1965; M.A. in Educational Psychology from Columbia University in 1967; and Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1970 (under Robert L. Thorndike), specializing in psychometrics. He has been married to psychologist Nadeen L. Kaufman since 1964.

Andy Kelly (Born:May 5 1968) was a successful collegiate quarterback at the University of Tennessee from 1988-1991. He took over as a starter for Sterling Henton in the 1989 SEC game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. He set numerous Tennessee and SEC passing records, most of them broken by his later successor at Tennessee, Peyton Manning. He was also drafted to play baseball with the Atlanta Braves.

Christopher Garrett Mohr (born May 11, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American football punter. Mohr grew up in Thomson, Georgia, where he played football at Briarwood Academy. He was recruited by the University of Alabama, where he was the team's starting punter for three years. After being named the Southeastern Conference's best punter his senior year, he spent the 1989 NFL season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was their punter the entire season.

Otis Burt "Sonny" Shroyer, Jr. (born August 28, 1935 in Valdosta, Georgia) is an American actor from Georgia who has appeared in various television and movie roles. He is best known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Enos Strate in the television series "The Dukes of Hazzard". He also starred in a spin-off called "Enos" based on his "Dukes of Hazzard" character. Shroyer is married and has two sons, Chris and Mark.

Ray Graves (born December 31, 1918) a native of Knoxville, Tennessee and an alumnus of the University of Tennessee, was a former head coach of the University of Florida football team. Graves was hired as Florida's head coach in 1960 to replace fellow Tennessee alumnus Bob Woodruff. Graves led Florida to five bowl appearances during his tenure.

Saudia Roundtree was born October 4, 1976 Anderson, South Carolina. She began her collegiate career at Kilgore College, where she captured National Junior College Player of the Year honors in 1994. She later transferred to the University of Georgia, where she was named an All-American and the Naismith College Player of the Year in 1996. Roundtree also received the Espy Award in 1997 for the Best Female College Basketball Player.
