  1. Sid Meier

    Sidney K. Meier (born 1954 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American programmer and designer of some of the most commercially and critically successful computer strategy games of all time. Meier has won several accolades for both his contributions to the computer games industry and for the titles that have gained huge commercial successes. Meier is considered by many as one of the most important figures in the computer games industry.

  2. Chris Sawyer

    "Chris Sawyer" is a Scottish computer game developer who is best-known for designing and programming "RollerCoaster Tycoon", "RollerCoaster Tycoon 2", and "Transport Tycoon". He entered the games industry in 1983, writing games in Z80 machine code on the Memotech MTX home computer, and then the Amstrad CPC series home computer. Some of these were published by Ariolasoft, "Sepulcri Scelerati" and "Ziggurat".

  3. Brian Reynolds

    Brian Reynolds (born 1967) is a well known computer strategy game designer, formerly of MicroProse and Firaxis Games. He now runs his own game development company, Big Huge Games where he is CEO and creative director, and has been chairman of the International Game Developers Association. He has played a major part in designing a number of multi-million selling games including "Civilization II" and "Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri".

  4. Bill Stealey

    John Wilbur 'Wild Bill' Stealey Sr. (born 1947) is a retired United States Air Force Lt. Colonel and Command Pilot and is currently CEO of iEntertainment Network. He is also an Air Force Academy Graduate. Stealey founded MicroProse together with Sid Meier in 1982, at a time when he was a Major. Stealey was the marketing guy, financier, and one of the most enthusiatic game testers in the game industry.

  6. Andy Hollis

    Andy Hollis is an American game designer and game programmer mainly known for his flight simulator games. He began his career at MicroProse Software, where he was responsible for games like "MiG Alley Ace", "Kennedy Approach", "Gunship", "F-15 Strike Eagle II" and "F-19 Stealth Fighter". He joined Origin Systems in 1993 where he was responsible for creating games for Electronic Arts' "Jane's Combat Simulations" brand.

  7. Bruce Shelley

    Bruce Campbell Shelley is a computer game designer who helped design "Sid Meier's Civilization" and "Railroad Tycoon" with MicroProse and the 1997 hit real-time strategy game "Age of Empires" with Ensemble Studios. He now serves in an advisor role at Ensemble and recently stepped down from the board of directors of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.

    Carl Sanford Joslyn Petersen (born September 16, 1955) is a game designer. Petersen was born in St. Louis, Missouri and attended University of California, Berkeley, majoring in zoology. He is a well-known fan of H.P. Lovecraft, whose work he first encountered in a World War II Armed Services edition of "The Dunwich Horror and other Weird Tales" found in his father's library. In 1974, "Dungeons & Dragons" brought his interest to role-playing games.

    Dominic Robinson is a computer game programmer. He came to prominence as an in-house programmer for Hewson when he converted "Uridium" to the Spectrum (a feat previously considered impossible) in 1986.     Francis Tresham is an United Kingdom-based board game designer who has been producing board games since the early 1970's. Tresham founded and ran games company Hartland Trefoil (founded 1971) until its sale to Microprose in 1997. His "1829" game has been credited with inspiring the "18xx" board game series and some of his board games have inspired Sid Meier computer games such as "Railroad Tycoon" and "Civilization".
