1. John Hayes

    John Hayes ONZM is a New Zealand politician and former diplomat. He currently serves as a member of Parliament. Hayes attended Rongotai College and Lincoln University, gaining a degree in agricultural science. He joined the diplomatic service, and eventually served as High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and Ambassador to Iran. He was involved in the Bougainville peace process, being made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for his work.

  5. Jerry Mateparae

    Lieutenant-General Jerry Mateparae ONZM, (born November 1954) is the current Chief of the New Zealand Defence Force. He is the first Māori to hold this office. He took office on May 1, 2006. Lieutenant-General Mateparae, enlisted in the Regular Force of the New Zealand Army in June 1972. In December 1976 he graduated from the Officer Cadet School of Australia-Portsea, into the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment.

  6. Stacey Jones

  7. Beatrice Faumuina

    Beatrice Roini Liua Faumuina, ONZM (born October 23, 1974 in Auckland) is a New Zealand discus thrower, a gold medallist at the 1997 World Championships in Athletics. She has represented New Zealand in three Summer Olympics. At the 2004 Summer Olympics she placed 7th in the discus with a throw of 64.45 metres. Early in her career, she was coached by New Zealand sport celebrity Les Mills.

    John James Patrick Kirwan ONZM MBE (born 16 December 1964) is a New Zealand born rugby union footballer turned coach. Kirwan, who played as at wing, played 96 times (including 63 test matches) as an All Black from 1984 until 1994.     Robert ("Rob") Norman Waddell, ONZM, (born January 7, 1975 in Te Kuiti) is a New Zealand rower, yachtsman and rugby player. In 1998, he married fellow rower Sonia Scown. Waddell won the single scull at the rowing World Championships in 1998 and 1999, and the gold medal in the Single Sculls at the 2000 Summer Olympics. During his World Championship period, Waddell had several closely contested races with Xeno Müller, the 1996 Summer Olympics champion.

  15. Danyon Loader

    Danyon Joseph Loader ONZM (born on April 21, 1975 in Timaru) is a swimmer from New Zealand. He represented New Zealand at three Commonwealth Games; 1990, 1994 and 1998 and two Olympic Games; 1992 and 1996. In 1992, at Barcelona, he won a silver medal in the 200m Butterfly. In 1996, he won two gold medals in Atlanta, in the 200m and 400m freestyle races.

    Helen Clarke ONZM (born Helen Margaret Shearer April 16, 1971 in Auckland) was a field hockey goalkeeper for New Zealand, who competed in three Summer Olympics: 1992, 2000 and 2004. She earned a record 166 caps for her country and received an ONZM in 2005. She was also a member of the National Women's Hockey Team at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, where she won a bronze medal, and the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
