    Jill Cornell Tarter (born 1944) is an American astronomer and the current director of the Center for SETI Research. She holds the Bernard M. Oliver Chair for SETI at the SETI Institute. Tarter received her undergraduate education at Cornell University and her PhD from the University of California. Tarter has worked on a number of major scientific projects, most relating to the search for extraterrestrial life.

    Nebkheperure Tutankhamun (alternately spelled with "Tutenkh-", "-amen", "-amon"), Egyptian ', was a Pharaoh of the Eighteenth dynasty (ruled 1333 BC - 1324 BC), during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom. His original name, Tutankhaten, meant "Living Image of Aten", while Tutankhamun meant "Living Image of Amun". He is possibly also the "Nibhurrereya" of the Amarna letters.

    Paul Horowitz (born 1942) is a U.S. physicist and electrical engineer, known primarily for his work in electronics design, as well as for his role in the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence (see SETI). At age 8, Horowitz achieved distinction as the world's youngest amateur radio operator (or "ham"). He went on to study physics at Harvard University (B.A., 1965; M.A., 1967; Ph.D., 1970), where he has also spent all of his subsequent career.

    Kent Cullers was born in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was premature and, consequently, immersed in pure oxygen. This saved his life but left him totally blind. Despite this "handicap" he was physically active as a child and encouraged by his parents to be a part of the educational mainstream. He was a straight-A student, a national merit scholar and class valedictorian at Temple City High School in California.

  13. Bernard M. Oliver

    Bernard M. Oliver (1919 - 1995), (aka Barney Oliver) was an eminent scientist having made important contributions in many fields including Radar, Television, and Computers. He was the founder and director of Hewlett Packard (HP) laboratories until his retirement in 1981. He is also a recognized pioneer in the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence (SETI).

  14. Laurance Doyle

    Laurance R. Doyle is a scientist who received his PhD from the Ruprecht Karl University of Heidelberg. He has worked at SETI since 1987 where he is a principal investigator and astrophysicist. His main area of study has been the formation and detection of extrasolar planets, but he has also worked on communications theory. In particular he has written on how patterns in animal communication relate to humans with an emphasis on cetaceans.

  15. Pascal Lee

    Pascal Lee is chairman and co-founder of the Mars Institute, a planetary scientist with the SETI Institute, and the Principal Investigator of NASA's Haughton-Mars Project (HMP). In conjunction with his role with HMP, he has travelled to the Arctic to conduct studies using Devon Island as a Martian analog. Lee has also participated in several planetary flyby missions.

  16. Margaret Turnbull

    Margaret Carol Turnbull is an American astronomer and a NASA Astrobiology Institute postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism, Carnegie Institution of Washington. She received her PhD in Astronomy from the University of Arizona in 2004. Turnbull is an authority on "Habstars," solar twins and planetary habitability. In 2002, Turnbull developed the HabCat along with Jill Tarter, a catalog of potentially habitable solar systems.

  17. John Billingham

    Dr John Billingham (1930-) Former director of the NASA SETI institute. He was born in England and educated at the Royal Grammar School Worcester. From there he went onto Oxford University to study physiology. He gained a BM BCh degree from Oxford and Guy's Hospital, London before working for the RAF. In 1963, Billingham joined the Johnson Space Centre becoming vice-chair of the SETI institute board of trustees. He is currently Senior Scientist of the SETI Institute.

  18. Roberto Pinotti

    Roberto Pinotti was born in Venice, Italy, in 1944. Sociologist, journalist and author; he is the main Italian scholar in ufology. Since 1960 he has searched for any available documentation or information about the UFO phenomena. Prof. Josef Allen Hynek has recognized Dr. Pinotti as a world-class expert. Formerly an officer of the NATO Italian Army III Missile Brigade, near Venice, he noticed many unexplained radar signals, that he linked to UFO sightings on the ground.

  20. Claudio Maccone

    Claudio Maccone is a space scientist born in Turin (Torino), Italy, on February 6, 1948. He obtained his PhD at the Department of Mathematics of King's College London in 1980. He then joined the Space Systems Group of Aeritalia (now called Alenia Aerospazio S.p.A.) in Turin as a technical expert for the design of artificial satellites, and got involved in the design of space missions.

  21. Seth Shostak

    Seth is a Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute, in Mountain View, California. He has an undergraduate degree in physics from Princeton University, and a doctorate in astronomy from the California Institute of Technology. For much of his career, Seth conducted radio astronomy research on galaxies, and has published approximately fifty papers in professional journals.

    Richard Hudson Bryan (born July 16, 1937) was Governor of the U.S. state of Nevada and a United States Senator from Nevada. He is a member of the Democratic Party. Bryan was born in Washington, D.C. and graduated from the University of Nevada at Reno in 1959 where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. He earned his law degree from the University of California, Hasting College of Law. In 1963 he was admitted to the Nevada Bar.
