Keri Hulme is a New Zealand writer, best known for "The Bone People", her only novel. Hulme was born in Christchurch, in New Zealand's South Island. The daughter of a carpenter and a credit manager, she was the eldest of six children. Her parents were of English, Scottish, and Māori descent. Hulme's early education was at North New Brighton Primary School and Aranui High School. Her father died when she was eleven years old.

Youngest of 4 - spoilt by parents, beaten by brothers. Dragged up into the river of mundanity. Escaped into music and theatre. Got lost got found - but who knows what sort of state I was found in. Figured it out a while back that it wasn't worth figuring out - just try not to take the petty things seriously and make sure the serious things are dealt with sensibly. i am am animal loving lesbian living in portland oregon. i just graduated from apollo college's veterinary assistant program! i also work at nortwest alpacas, wich is an alpaca ranch of over 350 animals. i am currently the heard health specialist/herd manager. it's the best job ever! i have 32 pets (19 rats, 1 cat, 3 bunnies, 4 guinea pigs, 2 mice, 1 alpaca, and 2 gerbils), 4 fish tanks and a buch of house plants.
