  3. Tom Cox

    Thomas Michael Cox (born 19 January 1930) is a retired Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. Cox was educated at the London School of Economics and became an electrician. He served as an alderman of Fulham Borough Council 1960-65 and as a councillor, representing Halford ward, on the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham from 1964, as well as as an ILEA councillor. Cox contested Stroud in 1966.

He is currently Chairman of Conservative Future and Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Tooting. Clarke attended Durham University, graduating in 1999 with a degree in Ancient and Modern History. Prior to Durham, he was a pupil at the prestigious Dulwich College, an independent fee-paying school in south London.

    Gregory Leonard George Barker (born March 8, 1966) is a British politician who currently serves as the Conservative Member of Parliament for Bexhill and Battle. Born in Sussex, he was educated at Steyning Grammar School, Lancing College, Royal Holloway, University of London, and the London Business School. He was a researcher at the Centre for Policy Studies in 1987, before joining Gerard Viian Gray as an Equity Analyst in 1988.

    Matthew James Willis (born 8 May 1983) is a British singer-songwriter from Tooting, south London, once a member of the British band, Busted. Matt was born in Tooting in London, and later moved to Molesy, Surrey. He soon moved to Woking, attending Woking High School, before leaving to attend Sylvia Young's Theatre School, where he met the likes of Lee Ryan, Amy Winehouse and Billie Piper. Musically, Matt has experienced his fair share of ups and downs.

  8. Darren Bent

    Darren Ashley Bent (born February 6, 1984 in Tooting, London) is an English footballer, currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur. There is some confusion over Bent's birthplace with nearly all biographies available - typically of a brief nature - saying he was born in Cambridge; however, The FA's profile says he was born in Tooting. This confusion may stem from the fact he moved to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, as a child, where he attended Hinchingbrooke School.

  9. Carl Morgan

    Carl Morgan, born 1981, is a former producer of the rap group So Solid Crew. In October 2005 he was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering a love rival. He was tried before a jury for the shooting of Colin Scarlett in Tooting, south London, in 2004. Scarlett, the partner of Morgan's ex-girlfriend, had beaten Morgan up earlier on the day of the murder. Morgan then returned with a gun to claim his retribution.

He began appearing in films in the early 1940s,debuting in the 1941 film "Cottage to Let" and his career was only briefly interrupted by service in the Royal Air Force from 1944 to 1947. He became familiar to audiences in British comedy films in the 1950s, but later became a respected character actor on television.

  11. Mark Shaw

    Mark Shaw (born Mark Robert Tiplady, on 10 June, 1961, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England) was the lead singer, and frontman of 1980s, pop/rock band, Then Jerico. He became infamous for storming off ITV's reality TV "Reborn in the USA" after arguing with fellow contestants (including Sonia, David Van Day & Dollar, Tony Hadley etc.) and was replaced by Peter Cox, of Go West fame. He currently resides in Tooting, South London.

  12. Jody Dobrowski

    Jody Dobrowski (1981 - October 14 2005) was a 24-year old assistant bar manager who was murdered on Clapham Common in south London. On October 14, at around midnight, he was beaten to death with punches and kicks by two men who perceived him to be gay. Tests carried out at St. George's Hospital in Tooting, South London revealed Dobrowski had a swollen brain, broken nose and extensive bruising to his neck, spine and groin.

  16. Albert Hill

    Albert George Hill (March 24, 1889 - January 8, 1969) was a British athlete, winner of two Olympic gold medals at the 1920 Summer Olympics. Born in Tooting (London), Hill started out as a long distance runner, winning the British AAA championships over 4 miles in 1910. Little more was heard from him in the next few years, until World War I interrupted most athletic contests in Britain in 1914. After the war, Hill returned as a middle-distance runner.

  17. Steve Benbow

    Stephen George Benbow, known as Steve Benbow was a British folk guitar player, singer and music director who was influential in the English folk music revival of the 1960s. His obituary in "The Times" described him as "a seminal influence on a whole generation of guitarists". He was born in Tooting, Surrey and educated at Reigate Grammar School. On leaving school, despite an aptitude for languages, he took a job on a farm in Axminster, Devon.

    The Honourable Jamie Rix (born 1958) is a popular English children's author known as Jamie Rix. Jamie Rix is the son of actor and MENCAP President Brian Rix and Blackadder actress Elspet Gray. He is married to Helen and has two grown-up sons, Ben and Jack. He lives in Tooting, London. He originally started writing and producing comedy for radio and TV, including "Alas Smith and Jones" and "Radio Active".

    Lars Christopher Gillberg, is a professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Gothenburg University in Gothenburg, Sweden, and at the medical college of St George's, University of London in Tooting in south London. He has also been a visiting professor at the universities of Bergen, New York, Odense, and San Francisco. Gillberg is known for his research of autism in children, Asperger syndrome. ADHD and anorexia nervosa.

  21. Freda Corbet

    Freda Künzlen Corbet was a British Labour politician. Born Freda Mansell, she was educated at Wimbledon County School and University College, London. She became a teacher, lecturer and a barrister. She was married and widowed and later re-married Ian McIvor Campbell.     Johnnie Hamp (sometimes referred to as John Hamp, or Johnny Hamp) is a British television producer, now retired. He is responsible for the early British television appearances of such acts as The Beatles, singer Cilla Black, comedian Woody Allen, and singer Lisa Stansfield as Head of Light Entertainment with Granada Television. As a small boy he toured variety theatres as a stooge to his grandfather, a magician known as the Great Hamp.

  24. Jaroslav Drobný

    Jaroslav Drobný was an amateur tennis champion as well as being an ice hockey player for the Czechoslovakian national team. He became an Egyptian citizen from 1949 to 1954, and then moved to Great Britain, where he died in 2001. He was a silver medallist with the Czechoslovakian ice hockey team in the 1948 Olympics. As a tennis player he was good enough as early as 1946 to be able to beat Jack Kramer in the round of 16 at Wimbledon before losing in the semi-finals.
