    Lin Dan (born October 14, 1983, in Longyan (龙岩), Fujian province) is a men's singles badminton player from Fujian, the People's Republic of China. Since 2004, he had been ranked number 1 in the world for two years. As of October 2006, Lin Dan had regained his ranking as #1 in the world, after a short period of being ranked behind Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia. Lin played in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he lost to Ronald Susilo of Singapore in the early rounds.

    Zhang Ning (born 19 May 1975 in Shenyang, Liaoning province) is a female badminton player from the People's Republic of China. Zhang played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics for China. In women's singles, she defeated Marina Andrievskaya of Sweden and Kelly Morgan of Great Britain in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Zhang beat Wang Chen of Hong Kong 9-11, 11-6, 11-7 to advance to the semifinals. There, she defeated countrywoman Zhou Mi 11-6, 11-4.

    Bao Chunlai (born February 17, 1983 in Changsha, Hunan province) is a male, left-handed badminton player from the People's Republic of China. Bao played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's singles, defeating Shoji Sato of Japan in the first round. In the round of 16, Bao was himself defeated by Park Tae-sang of Korea. Bao reached the men's singles final at the 2006 IBF World Championships losing the final against Lin Dan.

In 2007, she won the Women's Singles title at the French National Badminton Championships.
