Gunning Bedford, Jr. (1747 - March 30 1812) was an American lawyer and politician from Wilmington, Delaware, who served as a Continental Congressman from Delaware and as a delegate to the U.S. Constitutional Convention of 1787. He is often confused with Gunning Bedford, Sr. (1742-1797), an officer in the Continental Army during the American Revolution and Governor of Delaware. Bedford graudated from the College of New Jersey, (now Princeton).

John Bedford (c. 1720 - 1791), born in Birmingham, England was an industrialist and ironworker. He established iron works, brick works and a coal mine at Cefn Cribwr (near Bridgend). Nearby Bedford Park is named after him, which is on land he owned from 1770 until his death. After his death the iron works and mine were sold, and the iron working eventually ended completely in 1836, although brick making and coal mining continued.

David Vickerman Bedford (born 4 August 1937 in London), is a British composer and musician. He has written and played popular music as well as classical. Bedford studied music at the Royal Academy of Music there under Lennox Berkeley, and later in Venice under Luigi Nono. In the late 1960s, he was engaged to orchestrate Kevin Ayers' album, "Joy of a Toy", on which he also played keyboards. This led to him playing keyboards with Ayers' band, The Whole World.

Henry "Harry" Bedford (born October 15 1899 in Grassmoor; died June 24 1976 in Derby) was an English professional football player. Bedford, a striker, began his career at Nottingham Forest in 1919, and it was after his performance against Blackpool at the City Ground that the promotion-seeking Seasiders, under the guidance of new manager Bill Norman, signed him in March 1921. Remarkably, Bedford scored seven goals in his first ten league games for Blackpool.

He is best known for his time at Victorian Football League team South Melbourne, but he also played eight games for Carlton. Peter began his football career at C.B.C. A. W. "Bill" Bedford OBE AFC FRAeS was a British test pilot and pioneered the development of V/STOL aircraft. Bedford joined the Royal Air Force as a fighter pilot in 1940. He flew the Hawker Hurricane and the P-47 Thunderbolt with No. 605 Squadron RAF and No. 135 Squadron RAF, and the P-51 Mustang with No. 65 Squadron RAF.
